Being a gunslinger while throwing to guys like Jennings and Robinson is different than being a gunslinger with a HOF WR like Mike Evans.

id add Pearsall and stribling as well

its about speed and separation last year we didnt have guys who can seperate this year we do. The contested catch rate should go down so should his int% which honestly wasnt like god awful or anything.
With all factors considered (age... Health... Etc..) I strongly believe purdy is the best player on the team.

The only other player that I think is close is warner.

I give the edge to Warner, the only thing Brock has over warner is his age and thats only a 3 year difference.

Well he's the QB so obviously his impact on the team will always be more important.
That being said against the Bears, late in the season with the number one seed on the line, there was no Trent, Kittle, Warner, Bosa, Greenlaw, Armstead, Aiyuk or Deebo and he carried the team.
And even against the Seahawks in the PO, the guy that tried everything until the game was completely over was Purdy. He never gave up that day. By the way thanks again Luke Farrell for being one of the worst players I've seen the last decade.

So yeah, I don't think that saying Purdy is all factors considered like you said the best player on the team wrong.
But ultimately if they want to win the big one, it has to be a total team effort by all the players and the coaching staff.
No QB wins a Superbowl alone. That doesn't exist.

I hope Farrell gets replaced by a camp body.

My lord he was bad last season.

So Purdy $53 mil/yr is paid more per year than Mahomes $45 mil, Stafford, $44 mil, Justin Herbert $52.5 mil, Lamar Jackson $52 mil

And they're all paid less than Trevor Lawrence and Dak Prescott.

If all you do is look at the extension AAV (new cash/new years), sure. If you look at the total contract AAV (total cash/total years), then no.

  • Extension AAV - Allen (100.2), Prescott (60.0), Burrow (55.0), Lawrence (55.0), Love (55.0), Tagovailoa (53.1), Goff (53.0), Purdy (53.0), Herbert (52.5), Jackson (52.0), Hurts (51.0)
  • Total AAV - Allen (55.0), Prescott (53.8), Jackson (52.0), Goff (48.1), Tagovailoa (47.1), Mahomes (46.4), Love (46.2), Watson (46.0), Purdy (45.1), Cousins (45.0), Burrow (44.3), Lawrence (43.8), Hurts (43.2), Herbert (42.3M), Stafford (42.0)

Keep in mind that when Lawrence extended, he still had 2 years remaining on his contract.

Mahomes had a contract adjustment in 2023 that paid out 45M from the final four years over 2023-26 instead. That pumped his cash flow to 52.2M per year from 2023-27 and dropped his cash flow to 39M per year from 2028-2031. In 2028, Mahomes will either get one more cash adjustment or an extension.

Mahomes got his extension. 239.05M in new cash that also adds 2 years. That 119.5M extension AAV passes Allen. His new contract has 450.3M in total cash over 8 years. That 56.3M total AAV passes Allen. His remaining cash still due to him for 2026, 2.3M, is unchanged. 2027 adds 5.1M in new cash to bring his total cash to 58M. 2028-31 added 95.95M in new cash which increases his AAV over those years from 39M to 63M. 2032-33 are added as new years with 138M in new cash.

Lamar refusing to extend earlier this offseason looks to have paid off. Purdy willing to take the discount looking better and better.

yessir a lot of the INTs are we keep throwing that in breaking stuff over the middle and teams sit on it, that's why you go out and get big mike, you can just throw the ball up to him one on one on the boundary and red zone he's one of the best of all time people sleep on how good mike evans is and it will open it up for everyone else, brock he showed it last season with that chicago game he gets into a flow state and dominates playing fast, brock is legit even if he's not mahomes or josh allen
