Agree to disagree. I've watched that game a few times. Darnold and JSN were the reasons Seattle won that game.

With 7 QB hits, 3 sacks, Seattle's defense and running game not showing up. Darnold did shoulder that game.

I definitely tipped my hat to him in that game. His showing a couple weeks later in the super bowl was, meh. But he absolutely balled out in the NFCCG.

Once again there is tipping your hat to him given a good performance and doing what I said. The two are not the same thing.

His TD to Bobo was impressive but also throws I've seen Purdy dragged for in these parts when it goes the wrong way. 1st and 10 with a lead inside the redzone you can live to play another down. But he makes a great throw with a rusher coming in on him and Bobo snags it with a defender all over him. Great play.

The two other TDs were to a wide open JSN on a coverage bust and another to Kupp who ran it in.

If to you that game meets your standards that's great but the criteria I put down is not something he achieved IMO in that game. Sam's thing has always been if you get to him early he's not able to keep it together. Seattle protected him after he went through a crazy stretch of turning the ball over and I didn't see a guy taking a game over.

The Bobo TD was great. The deep pass to Shaheed on 3rd down was great but 0 pressure on that play. Go back and look at all the key down throws he made and you'll find virtually 0 pressure or moments where he needs to escape the pocket because of it. The few times it gets somewhat muddy it's dump off throws. And not that there's anything wrong with that but once again I'm not seeing a guy showing me something he hasn't before. And like you said the following week he went back to looking shaky vs a better secondary.

With what he did last year with 💩💩💩 Wr's, having 3 HOF's - Brock's records would stand for 100+ years.

Fans get too hung up on where their favorite players are ranked by whoever. Does it matter? Does it make them play any better or worse on the field? They don't care what Simms or anyone else says about them unless it's the coach. Only one thing matters in sports and that's winning. Even being ther highest paid guy at your position isn't as important as winning a title.

BRock just needs to win a SuperBowl in order to change the opinions of a lot of ingnoramus football fans out there.

This right here is it.
Had his shot.

I don't know how this window will be open with an aging core.

Defense wins championships, so as long as the defense is rejuvenated - the window is open. Kyles offense (even with all the injuries last year) was always playoff caliber.

Yes.

Apologies. I meant "how long"

I believe it is open still, just questioning how long it will be open.

I mean, the man left the field with the lead three times in the 4th quarter and OT. If he gets back to the SB he's displayed that he's more than capable of winning it. Team sport and all that.

He did miss a golden opportunity to close it out at that 2 minute mark BUT for all the talk that year of Brock looking good cuz of his avengers, these were the Avengers that showed up for him in the SB.

Trent had a rough game, killed a drive all on his own.
CMC critical fumble
Kittle - injured but didn't do much
Deebo - just a total disaster
Aiyuk - probably the best of the bunch but didn't get as many opportunities(was open for the first down on that 2 min mark)

Yet this goes back to what I mentioned about Purdy vs Darnold conversations before. KC was all over Brock, especially after Feleciano got injured and Spags was throwing crazy looks at a 2nd year QB and while Purdy didn't always make the right read(like that 2 min play) but I never saw panic or fear in him. He battled and he had us in position to win that game.

This was a defense that Spags claimed was the most talented he ever coached and this is the DC who held the arguably best offense in NFL history to 14 points. The result was a SB loss but imo the performance by Brock was a lot better than Sam's in his win.
