QB Brock Purdy Thread

Eric Crocker thinks Sam Darnold is better than Purdy so you know, even in our own 49ers fanbase bubble, we have some weird takes.

purdy is gonna ball out this season, won't be shocked if he makes the pro bowl

17 is crazy lol. Thats just being disrespectful for funsies. Nobody who seriously watches the game puts Brock at 17.

So many QBs placed above Purdy with weaker stats and less playoff wins.

Thats why I stopped listening to Locked On. Its ESPN Lite with guys auditioning for their next job. I find JFA more insightful.

Same. I only listen to the shows with Nick. I like Nick a lot. He's positive but also fair good or bad. I listen also to JFA. He knows what he's talking about.
And while at first, I wasn't a fan of Dieter's personality, I have to say that I quite like the Dieter and Hutch show.

Some will always put a premium on top tier traits regardless of resume. It's true Brock doesn't have the arm talent of Darnold but we've seen plenty of bazooka arm QBs who couldn't play at the level of guys who had average arms.

I honestly don't even care about the QB rankings anymore. Just tired of people pretending Brock can't ball when everything shows he can.

As for Darnold being better than Purdy IMO...well until I see Darnold take a game over in the playoffs when he's getting pressured on the regular and not being protected by the running game or safe playcalling he'll be behind Brock to me.

I don't think Sam's arm talent is so elite that the displaces the mental mistakes/turnovers.

I don't think Darnold is better than Purdy. But in my eyes, Darnold did all of the above against the Rams in the NFCCG. He played out of his mind in the biggest game he'd played in at that point, got nothing out of the run game, and was nails.

Darnold has better arm talent, but Brock has him beat on decision making, escapability, and playmaking. If Darnold is better than Brock, 9ers wouldn't have let him out the building.

Agree 💯%, Brock is top 10. And he's just going to get better. Get this guy three Mike Evans in their prime and he'll own every passing record in the NFL.
