is it though ?

Not even close lol.

Prime Deebo, Yuk and JJ were significantly better than this WR room.

He didn't have prime Deebo.

Overall this is the best he had. In 2023 when BA broke out, JJ only had 260 yards.

Deebo still had 890 yards receiving in 2023, which isn't bad for the #2 (especially since CMC and Kittle also got a lot of targets). JJ was the 5th option in the passing game that year, so no surprise he didn't have a ton of yards, but he came through in some big moments.

Considering that our top 3 WRs this year combined for less than 900 yards last season, it seems premature to say they're the best Purdy has had.

Prime Deebo was a running back. He couldn't run routes to save his life, and if he wasn't the #1 option he went half speed.

I just looked at Deebo's Washington stats. 2025 was his lowest yards per reception. He seems to be going downhill or slowing down. Kyle traded him at the right time, or so it seems. Unlike Aiyuk.

I don't think I would credit Kyle for trading him. The only reason he did was because Deebo requested it……..twice. Once during his contract negotiations and then again after he didn't live up to it

I am glad he was traded.

Loved watching him play.

KS was addicted to forcing the ball to him in disadvantageous situations + the league caught up with the deebo schemes.

Yeah, the cap destroys player depth. Any time we get good talent - it's hard keeping them. Deebo wanted more money, God bless him. Careers are short and he wanted his brinks truck. Aiyuk was signed to a new contract in 2024 and 49ers couldnt afford deebo (if my memory is correct) and had to let him go.

Key Aspects of the Apparent Decline:
Declining Metrics: His Yards After Catch (YAC) has dropped for four consecutive seasons.
Decreased Explosiveness: Observers note reduced speed, making him less effective at getting to the edge.
Reduced Impact: He has fewer 100-yard receiving games, leading to a smaller impact on game outcomes.
Factors Involved: Contributing factors to this decline include the physical toll of his high-effort playing style, injuries/illness (e.g., pneumonia in 2024), and potential motivation questions after securing a large contract.

While some observers note that his struggles were intensified by lack of opportunity rather than solely lack of skill, the consensus is that he is not performing at the same elite level seen in previous years.
