For me it's people who are bigger fans of certain players than fans of the team. Like they take it personal when their guys slighted.
When purdy is 100% he is better than Mac because of his mobility. With his turf toe he isn't as mobile and in my opinion isn't as good as Mac. Mac is tougher and can take more of beating and with our subpar offensive line, that gives Mac the leg up in my book.

I have some bad news, lol.

Good news is we have three straight games against inept offenses.

...Carolina just put up nearly 500 yards passing.

I'm just curious what gives you this take? The fact that Mac has played hurt this year?

28th in ppg
22nd in ypg
24th in 3rd down conversion percentage
20th in red zone td percentage
25th in epa/p

These numbers don't include yesterday's game I'm pretty sure. They definitely like playing against Atlanta.

This offense isn't good and they feature one of the worst starting QBs in the NFL.

I like him more as a politician than sports talking head. He seems more knowledgeable about politics. At least from the little bit of accidental exposure I got of him.

I think he has mostly solid basketball opinions honestly.

Did anyone get an update on how his toe was? I just wanted him to come out of yesterday game better than he previously was or atleast have no set backs on his injury.

Curious as well, I thought I saw some mannerisms during the game that indicated it was bothering him but will have to wait n see.

Even then this team has proven to be very cryptic with injuries.

This.

And the reason he threw for only 200 yards is partly the reason you bring up for him having to not have to go far to get those TDs.

Lol I don't get it, ppl only pay attn to flashy numbers but do not think about the reason behind the numbers.(Think, McFly! Think!). There was only one or two throws that were a bit off to me, overall, I think it was a great comeback game. Especially, considering the time off and dealing with an injury that apparently is not healed completely.

Brock did look frustrated out there and I am wondering if it's dealing with the injury. If it was Mac with a 40 burger, ppl would not even bring up the lack of flashy stats/numbers..it would be talk of how he should be qb1 and Purdy was overpaid/was cursed by the Ravens, wears s**tkickers, needs to just stick to Applebee's commercials...lol etc.

I know...i just hope Kyle/Saleh focus on the most recent game vs their overall numbers cuz this has makings of a trap game and I hope we don't let that happen with it being a primetime matchup.

Our defense rarely gets clean stops anymore and Young brings a mobile QB element we haven't had to deal with since we lost Mykel. If Bethune can't go it's even tougher out there.

Offense really has to play their best version from here on out.

I think they'll probably have some success because our defense isn't good either, but I don't see this as a trap game. Primetime game at home… offense as 'healthy' as it's been since the start of the season, at least in terms of availability. Should be a win.
Trap game? Naaa

Primetime Purdy baby.

I do hope Bethune is back very soon though.

I thought Brock made a couple (at least two) bad decisions that put the ball in harm's way. One was an inaccurate throw on a Dig to Pearsall(?), one was a bad decision. Luckily those were dropped. The one near the red zone where he scrambled to his left was a very unnecessary risk. Outside of those I thought he looked good for being his first action in several weeks.

Purdy looked fine yesterday. He made one really nice throw on that 30 yard TD to Kittle. Other than that it was a lot of easy wide open throws. Not great but at least he didn't show any signs that the toe was bothering him. I said before the game that his stats in the game weren't the most important thing about his return. It was the perfect scenario for his return being that he's from that area and the Cards have a poor pass rush.
The bolded is so dismissive as if a good QB isn't the reason why this sometimes is the case.

Agreed both were pretty inexcusable. The one over the middle was into a minefield of both 49ers and defenders. I counted at least 5 players in line of the ball on that one.

The other one he tried to fit it over the top which was completely unnecessary.

Pretty bad decisions on both and got lucky.

The rest was pretty good. The first pass of the game I was not sure if it sailed or was a throwaway. He settled in well after though.

I wouldn't say Mac is tougher. I think both are very competitive and can play when hurt. Any narrative that Purdy is injury prone isn't accurate. He's had two injuries but both had nothing to do with being brittle. Any player can get turf toe and the elbow injury was someting that I've seen other QBs get when they get hit while trying to pass. His injures have just been bad luck. Mac was able to play and was kind of forced into it since the team had no other real option. Brock just couldn't play. That's the difference.

Mac is better than Purdy when Purdy has trouble moving. Way to go out on a limb there!
