Hope he's learned something from Mac these past few weeks. I don't want to see the Brock from late last year and the one so far this year. Hopefully he reset, knows he doesn't need to do too much. And careful with the ball at key moments.
As much as the guys respect Mac, there sure seems to be a sense of tangible excitement to have Purdy back.

Gut tells me everyone in that building believes Brock is the best option.

Only if we are getting the 22/23 Brock.

Yes to this.

I know he threw two dumb picks, but I really liked Brock in Week 1 at Seattle. He was clutch. And shoulda coulda woulda thrown the interception in the end, but he led a game winning drive with (1) a deep pass, (2) key conversions and (3) a scramble play to give his guy a shot in the endzone to win the game.

Its wild to me how people treat his 2024 as if he was awful. His 2024 he was still a top 10 QB in most QB metrics, and better in most QB metrics than Mac has been this year. And he did that without the ability to dump the ball off to a checkdown for 70 yards a game.

I don't care much about the metrics. He had multiple games where he could've led us for the go-ahead score late and didn't get it done. Right or wrong, those situations are going to fall on the QB. When your team isn't having a great day, you need your QB to be that xfactor/difference maker in those situations, and purdy failed. Doesn't mean he'll always fail but to react to his 2024 by saying "he played fine! Top 10!".... No unbiased party would actually say that if they watched him
Jonnydel did an interesting breakdown on the Gold Standard Network explaining why he believes Brock is an upgrade over Mac. As is always the case with Jonnydel, he uses the film to underscore his points and showed similar plays where Brock understood how to get more out of the rep than Jones did and how he was a much better post snap processor than Jones. JonnyDel remains the gold standard for Niner content creators when it comes to film analysis, so I guess it was appropriate that he did his breakdown on that show. Really looking forward to seeing Brock back in action. Hopefully he and Pearsall can pick up where they left off. Go Niners!

Well part of it is you are looking at the stats. Im talking a bout the fluidity of the offense. The offense this year with Mac seem to have a rythm and that's without a running game. In years past if Shanny couldn't run the offense looked like s**t. This year seems different.

Last year and this year Brock got away from managing the game in my opinion. If he gets back to playing in rythm while still being him like 22/23 then yes Brock's best is definitely better than Mac's best.

Mac has played great but I'm hoping Brock offers something better in certain situations. His legs can extend plays and if he can convert some of those 3rd downs early on to sustain drives so we don't fall behind that's a big plus.

One of the reasons we lost our way last week was not being able to convert 3rd down on those early drives. That allowed LA to rack up the score early an we never even had a chance…

Drive 1. A non called PI that disrupted the pass.

Drive 2. Fumble by Jennings just outside the redzone.

Drive 3 turnover on Downs. IMO Shannys play call was to blame.

Brock's legs doesn't change any of this

I have no problem with Mac. I think he's played admirably and firmly believe in the "go with the hot hand" take. It's why the 49ers extended their dynasty with Young. It's why the Pats became a dynasty with Brady. I'd let Mac ride out the season and make it his job to lose.

but we know how Kyle works. Even if Purdy throws 4 interceptions this game he'll stick with him because he thinks he can fix everything.
