It's not about having 'guts' or not, it's about having a functioning brain that allows for patience and perspective.

health is not the issue, it's trying to force it to CMC too many times. He needs to get back to hitting the open guy and not trying to take care of his homies

I love Purdy. I see no qb controversy. Mac came in to do what you hope and pray a back up qb can do; got to an environment he could thrive in.

The team around Brock and Shanny have been reallly dicey all of last year and through this year. Don't discount his toe...that and overcompensating because he has no talent around him and there is no run game at all (vs mac who is playing with house money and has no pressure other than to show people he's a good qb but is coming in as a backup and playing loose and cool) is the key difference.

I personally think the constant is shanahan. People talk about how good he is with QBs but he gets them killed physically and psychologically. We've seen it before. I DO think he trusts purdy and that's been the best qb/hc relationship we've seen since shanahan has been here. But he rides qbs (and CMC) like he stole em and just grinds them into dust.

Shanahan is the problem with QBs in SF. Purdy shoulda never played against JAX but i don't blame Shanahan for that; I think purdy said he was good to go and pushed himself.

Purdy and Mac in the QB room is a good problem to have. But the fickle fan base and the seeming love interest in Mac from the draft makes for some drama. If purdy is healthy he's our guy. He's done some phenomenal things despite what people want to say. He went to a championship game as a last pick rookie thrust into action and went to a SB they shoulda won (if not for shanny) after an elbow surgery in his first year starting.

Ironically, Shanny also calls better games when he has less talent. The team stunk but he'd get like 30+ points out of nick mullens and jeremy kerley and matt brieda. When he has all pro talent like Kittle, CMC, Aiyuk, Deebo etc.... he goes autistic.

Rest Purdy until he's 100%. I worry he won't be this year. This toe thing seems like it'll be a problem all year. One game at a time though.

We have good problems and the NFL is a next man up league. Brock sits until 100 percent and no rush to the field so long as Mac Jones is winning

Agree

There's no controversy. Purdy has just signed a 260 millions contract.
Besides, having two good QBs is the best thing possible in this league.
Very happy to see Mac Jones playing the best Football of his career right now with all the injuries this team has.

No. But he did play scary sh%tty against the jags. That is true. Concussed maybe. Numb arm maybe. No idea what but he needs to get right before stepping on the field. No question.

We know what the issue is. It's called Turf Toe and it really messed up his accuracy. Not counting wet weather games, it was by far the worst game of his career accuracy-wise.

Could it be that Brock even further is forcing the ball knowing how good his backup is? It's. It's not so much his lack of accuracy but judgement lately of taking care of the ball.

Brock is starting to be an injured alot lately also.
