They decided on the type of Coffee to have during the meetings.

Goodbye Brock and hello Mac Jones! 😂

Hello Pittsburgh, and where's my kleenex box.

If you are truly a 49er fan like you claim to be, there is no way you would want Mac Jones as our starting quarterback. Stop trolling and grow up.

When Brock signs that big contract he's going to be under a lot of pressure to live up to it. Pressure he hasn't felt so far. Now he'll be getting pressure from fans and the press as well as the opposing defense.

And if that GTD total is too high should things go in the direction, firing the staff suddenly becomes an option if we aren't doing good. Doesn't matter what Paraag did or didn't do. So they have to be cautious for their own sake.

This QB salary escalation contest (that's what it looks like) isn't sitting well with some other players at different positions. They are slowly but surely starting to demand a bigger share of the pie. The league is going to need to address this in the near furue at the owners meetings. Adjustments to the cap will need to be larger or a new salary structure will need to be ageed on with the players union. More money isn't resulting in a better product. If anything it's worse as the players seem to be more concerned about how much the get paid than they do how good they play.

I'm a football fan through and through but no player deserves $50 million per year. It's a game. Not life and death. We ( the fans and owners) have lost our minds when we start thinking about paying these guys so much that they become among the 400 highest paid people in America. Not just highest paid athletes. Highest paid people. Out of the 130 million or more workers these guys are now in the top one tenth of 1%. Crazy.
Only way to circumvent such high salaries is a higher # of active players per roster.

I'm certainly not in favor of greedy owners keeping the money instead of the players. That will hurt the product even moreso.
This is gonna get even uglier than the Aiyuk episode.
In my eyes, to avoid any excess drama, we need this contract done by OTAs. So what is that like May 27 or so? I think that's the date we should expect to hear some news.

i really hope we have a fair deal complete and set the tone for players regarding contracts - the qb was able to get it done without an off season of chaos, make it happen gents.
Don't want to set any tones for any contracts. Just want to keep the cap hits as low as possible, or postpone the process till next year.

it is what it is... it's the position he's under... so far he's earned everything he's gotten to this point.. the 49ers need stop looking at who he was and where he was drafted, the dude took us to the Super Bowl and no one ever saw that..

He also lost the superbowl and when we needed him to carry the team last year ended up with a 6-11 record for last place in the west with very avg stats. It's gotta be the reason they haven't signed him yet as these negotiations progress.

Eh, I consider contract drag outs to be drama for the team. Right now everything is fine cause mandatory camp and all that hasn't started. Especially since the player will show up to camp and just stand there so they don't get fined. People can say what they want but it's just a distraction to everyone and takes the focus off the team improving.

we just want guys purely focused on football and getting better, not talking amongst each other about how the coach is annoyed that a key player is just standing there all day doing nothing for a better contract.

just get the contracts done and let the team focus on ball. These guys aren't robots - they're human like us, they get distracted by all the normal s**t we do. Idc what they say to the media.

Id love to be a fly on the wall listening in on contract negotiations for a QB contract. Like what does it mean when John lynch says "we are making good progress." Lol from a football standpoint

ive negotiated a lot of commercial real estate development contracts and there are a ton of things that usually need to be discussed and agreed upon, but I'd be curious to what nfl players and front offices go back and forth on.

tbh, I'd be really surprised if the salad isn't agreed to - or at least 90-95% of it. It just would move slightly depending on what they're negotiating each other over, is my guess.

i knew a girl who worked contracts for NFL HQ and she was a royal POS person. Lol so hopefully it's not the same as interacting with her.
