So, is Mahomes still "Super Quarterback Man"? Look at what happened to him when he had numerous (ok,4) defensive linemen applying pressure IN HIS FACE! Mr. "The Michael Jordan of football" got foot planted in his tukas all day long. And, honestly, Jalen was at least able to complete 95% of his throws, but he wasn't such a standout either. His runs are what he did best in the Super Bowl. So, Niners FO, let's get some offensive linemen to keep Brock on his feet so he can't the ball to his receivers.

had brock won, it's ifs and buts. i mean what if jimmy won? the kc super bowls are very similar. we got 20 points in 4 quarters and we got 19 in four quarters. in both cases, it's we gotta play perfect. we gotta not fumble with christian. we gotta not muff the punt in special teams. we need the O, the D and ST to play a pretty flawless game. we could have won with jimmy if we defended 3rd and 15. that sounds a lot like we could have beat KC if we blocked chris jones. i think we do have to ask ourselves, is brock simply jimmy 2.0?
I'm sorry but nobody serious should be asking this.
Jimmy barely had to do anything to get us into the SB. He played a much weaker KC defense in their first year under Spags and couldn't get us first downs let alone points in the 4th quarter in what his 6th season in the NFL?
We don't get to the SB without Brock last season and he's facing a much tougher defense with a much weaker OL blocking for him and got us the lead every time in the 4th quarter and in OT. He did that in his 2nd season in the NFL after a major elbow injury as a rookie.
They should not be compared in the playoffs at all.
And had the 49ers D played at the level of the Eagles, hell, had we just gotten the same level
of officiating. We win that game. Which is why the "he won so he's better" stuff lacks context.

Just the facts: Brock Purdy has been the NFL's most efficient QB since joining the league in 2022, tops in EPA/play + success rate. He's also only 25. Young and Montana didn't deliver their most efficient football until Age 33.

Sweet. Let's hope the arrow goes back up this year, regardless whether Aiyuk and CMac are their old selves.

Salary cap news may be good but just hoping it doesn't lead to Brock's agent saying "JUST KIDDING I WANT $70M NOW OR WE HOLD OUT!!" then it's awful news for us and great news for everyone else

Agents work for the player, the final decision is Brock's hands regardless of what his agent says. Salary cap increase doesn't justify any player asking for more. I still say Brock should be somewhere around 45 per year. What other team would give him that or more?

If you honestly think no team would give him more than 45 mil, you are way off

It's not just me saying it, several ESPN analyst have said if he was a free agent the market for him would be limited. I'm no GM but I'd do 5 year $225 and half of that guaranteed.

Everybody talks s**t about Brock. They are way off. There are people that don't hold his draft status against him. Montana is in. Rice is in. Guys like Warner and Spagnuolo love him. Somebody would give him more than 45 mil, easily

Define limited. 7 teams would have immediate interest and all it takes is one team to drive up the price. Not all of them will be willing to pay $60 million but like i said all it takes is 1 team and that's the leverage he has. If you got a team like the Browns willing to give a record breaking guaranteed contract to a sexual predator you bet you butt someone would be willing to give squeaky clean Brock Purdy a nice fat contract.
Titans
Browns
Giants
Jets
Colts
Saints
Raiders

I got my pops in my head telling me as a kid, "so because your friends are jumping off the bridge, does that mean you have to too?"
it's stupid that the 49ers are paying Brock what they are about to pay him but at this point it's inevitable. He's gonna get paid. Just like Aiyouk, Trent, and CMC. It's gonna be a bad co tract as soon as he signs it. I just wonder how long it's gonna be before fans here start b***hing about it.
Jones, Tua, Lawrence……it didn't take long for their fans to realize just how bad those contracts were.

You just have to remember that the fundamental difference in these arguments is how a person evaluates Purdy as a player.
I am skeptical that this negotiation will be the same as Aiyuk, Trent, and CMCs.

I think the deal gets done sooner than later and won't be record setting.
$45-50M. With reachable incentives.
