It's perfect on the learning curve up

Purdy was let down by the receivers a number of times.

They also saved him a number of times.
A ton of drops but his vision was pretty poor today (for him). He had some serious tunnel vision. Arm strength or timing/mechanics were off. Got lucky too.

But when needed, he came through. And he was tested a lot today.

It sure seems like Kyle avoids the outside when the heat is on. Everything in breaking. Oddly familiar.

I think it's easy to forget that Purdy is not only learning on the fly, but the staff is also learning about Purdy. Practice and preseason is one thing, but the last five weeks is all the professional game film that matter that 49ers coaching staff has been able to review, also. The boot route to Kittle, maybe that's not the throw for him. The route to Jennings, maybe if it's a few yards closer it's tenable. The 49ers have to adapt to him as much as he has to adapt to the league. I thought he was as resilient as can be expected in an uncommon letdown game from the defense.
Quite a few Jimmy-esque throws tonight, both good and bad. Much better pocket awareness, mobility, and decision making in regards to throw always though.

Not a god after all. Seems we live and die by our defense and run game. Shocker.

When an offense puts up over 28 points the loss is always on the defense.

When a Defense holds a team to under 17 points a loss is always on the offense.

Who said Purdy was a god lol?

454 yards of offense, almost 300 yards passing, a 95 qb rating, two td passes, and only two punts

vs

500 yards of offense given up by our defense to a career backup QB.

If we were even remotely "live or die by our defense" we would have lost this game pretty handedly

Made some mistakes but so did his receivers. Really liked watching him in a game like this. Didn't give up and had some great throws down the stretch.

if his receivers were catching like the Raiders ones, then he might of had 500 yards.
Including the Dolphins game, our offense under Purdy has put up 33, 35, 21, 37, and 37 points.
That's 32.6 points per game, and all of those games have been against teams that are in the playoffs / fighting for the playoffs.... with some of them being very good defenses.

He's really balling out right now.

I felt like the bad throws today are correctable. Felt like he made good reads, but the ball placement and/or timing wasn't quite there on some of them.
Can he fix them quickly? Hopefully.

But all in all, my confidence in him is even higher after this game. This was a game that had a playoff-vibe to it, and he showed his mettle.
Let's be honest - wasn't his best game. But def wasn't a bad game. He needs better ball placement consistently and our defense needs to stop getting hammered.

overall, i was impressed with Brock and happy with him. We need to tighten up our defense and get sharper. We won't win a playoff game with that defensive play
