Just a thought. If Brock continues to perform like this, how much should the team pay him?
thankfully we got him for 2 more years without not having to worry about it.. but obviously he would get a great contract.
My bet is he'll have premium valuation, or something like that. Whatever the QB market value is at that time, he'll ask for more, considering his historical statistical production. I'm pretty sure Jed and ShanaLynch will give him what he asks for.
Thats when AB81 kicks in and does his pro-elite analysis. AB81 is the go to guy for any real cap analysis here.
No they are not going to give him whatever he wants. This is a business not a family love fest. I'm sure he will be paid handsomely but that does not mean it's some kind of break Mahomes deal.
Lucky we found him and we have a ways to go to pay but please put aside personal fanfare from business decisions that affect the entire team. This will most likely be a drawn out off season deal when the time comes. It is not and should not be a blank check.
It's going to be a win win deal, and that means Brock will gets what he wants and the 49ers get what they want.
But seriously, just like the Bosa and Deebo deals -- the deal will be probably a bit protracted to first of all get everybody on the same page with regards to valuation. Keep in mind in both cases (Bosa and Deebo) they *historically* had blockbuster deals - and I don't see it any different with Brock. The cap ceiling generally keeps going up, and if that continues - Brock's going to get a deal that will historically be one that is bigger than any QB deals in the past. I seriously doubt Brock will give a hometown discount (so to speak) to the 49ers - because I don't think either Bosa or Deebo did.
