But take some major pieces away and you're 100% right. There are longterm questions to still be answered.

lol, how miserable it must be to have to qualify every good moment with such petty b******t. Glad I don't live in your world.

It's not being miserable. He played great today. It's just that the questions about him that came out of the 3 straight losses (5 turnovers when we were trailing by 7 points or less) haven't been answered by 1 dominant win where we were never really challenged.

Give him all the pieces (Trent is back),...and he can "do this."

Unless he nose dives, those "long term questions" have two more years of his development before they become an issue. Best case the long term question is how do we resign him.

Like one situation where he was concussed?

Stop trying to extrapolate two games and make a determination that being who he is. The sample size is just so small and one of those games he had his bell rung. You'll just come across as looking like a fool if, I don't know, the young QB blossoms in those situations after stacking experience. Your myopic and static view of his ability will be my schadenfreude one day. I'm patient.

Which can be said about every young QB in the history of the sport.

Lots of qbs (*cough Jimmy cough Kap) start out great and regress when teams figure them out. Nothing unreasonable about being cautious in the midst of that three game slide. But today brought hope that who Brock really is is the guy from the previous games, and everyone ought to be happy about that.
no long term questions about the generational trevor lawrence though after he played like booty

Without Trent this line is bottom 5 in the NFL. With him its like middling range.

If we actually had a top 5 line I suspect he would easily be a top 5 QB. As it stands we have almost no time for long developing plays.

Couple this with almost no standard running plays under center our play action ability is also limited.

We are in the bottom side of pass attempts and I believe it was already shown if purdy had more attempts per game 30-40 range then his numbers would be greatly improved. Along with our points scored. This is not possible given th current offensive line though. Our play book is too limited by poor blocking and quick developing plays.
Yeeee!

He's better than Jimmy and Jimmy got us one quarter from a Super Bowl win. As long as the three bad games were just a bad streak and his true self is the top 10 guy he's been, we are set.

He doesnt have to be top 10. As long as he doesnt cave when his team is up by 10. Thats the difference between Jimmy and Brock. Sure, the jury's out whether Purdy can be ELITE and lead the team in comebacks and from under pressure situations, but what he HAS proven is that he doesnt cave when the team is up big. In other words, put him in that 4th quarter vs the Chiefs or Rams....i doubt he goes on an epic meltdown and costs this team a chance at glory.

And for that reason alone, he's already a HUGE upgrade over JimmyG.
The kid just has a knack for making plays.

Idk if he's a great QB, but he's a good QB that if he keeps developing and we had good pieces around him he will be great

Huge point. Jimmy would frequently attempt to steal defeat from the jaws of victory. Not Brock.

Being cautious is fine. So is being patient. I knew he'd struggle at some point. I mean you can't just hit the ground playing elite and never go through any struggles. It's all about allowing the kid to make mistakes without jumping to conclusions. Those mistakes could be a sign of a larger issue, or they could just be growing pains that every young QB should be afforded. I've always taken a measured approach with Purdy even though I think he'll blossom into a franchise QB (if not being one already).

That's the hope. He has a lot of arm talent and a lot of savvy. The only question is the risk taking. But that beats being too conservative by a mile.
Top 10 QB
