QB Brock Purdy Thread

He's fine you guys. The overall body of work is very good. He's still a rookie on games played. He's barely played. It's remarkable to be this good this fast anyway. He was going to have a few up and down games. We were pressing because we were down. So some got forced at the end. There was one bad play where apparently the handoff was missed. It was a mistake. He will learn from it. I wouldn't expect a young QB to play completely mistake free all game long. That's completely unrealistic. He's doing good and he will progress further. Purdy is much better than Jimmy G already in some things he can give you.

You mean like this?

Yeah he should probably stop throwing these.
Lol does this mean he never threw an INT over the middle or Defenses not starting to migrate over the middle? Look how far back LB is down the middle. They know it's coming eventually

also I said to lay off a bit, it doesn't mean to stop

I mean that was a sick throw. I told everyone he had some turn-over-worthy throws last season. Plays that should have been picked, but just weren't. Ya'll gave me a bunch of s**t for it. Well some of those same passes are getting picked off now. He did the same stuff in college.

End of the day he does WAY more good things, then bad stuff.

He's still young and figuring s**t out. I think he plays with way more anticipation than Jimmy ever did. He's much more mobile. Not sure he's ever gonna be in that elite club, but his paycheck is allowing us to go wild elsewhere. His play is giving us a shot. We will see if he's actually the long-term guy. I don't think he's the main reason we're on a losing streak.

Yeah I mean, honestly if the defense is even just average the past couple weeks and Moody makes at least one more kick against Cleveland and Minnesota, we're probably still unbeaten.

Unfortunately that's 95% of Kyle's passing game and he runs this b***h. But I hear you. We've gotta start mixing it up more outside, try some deeper shots, etc. and get the running game going again, first and foremost. Use his mobility more.

Thanks!

Damn, only 5 passes beyond 10 yards with very little in the middle to everything over 10 yards almost exclusively in the middle of the field.

You can almost guess which games Kyle was game planning for.

🤣

After watching the mediocrity in Vegas I'm glad Kyle runs this b***h the way he does. Can make tier 4/5 qbs look tier 2 occasionally.

Defense is the biggest issue. Brock will actually learn from his mistakes. Fixing the defense is a bigger challenge.

Bwock will never have a BIG, STWONG AWM like Steve Young.

At 2:40:18 we see Young throwing a hail mary from his own 48 yard line against the Packers in the playoffs. It travels an amazeballs 48 yawds in the air, landing around the Packers' 4 yard line for the only interception of Young's career.

Bench Bwock and sign Jim Druckenmiller. We still don't know whether or not he was a bust, because like future HOFer Trey Lance, he was never given a fair shot.

Good God lol

He throws all over. He's capable of many throws throughout the field.

Yeah, Brian Hoyer, C.J. Beathard, Nick Mullens, and Trey Lance sure looked epic here. They paid Jimmy all that money for fun.

Have any of those guys looked better elsewhere?

Limited talent is still limited talent.

They don't look that much alike. It doesn't matter anyway.

Jimmy's injuries I think have crippled him at this point. 32 isn't old, but when you're as battered as he's been, he may as well be nearly 50 in NFL age now. Shoulder tears, ACL, torn thumb ligaments, broken foot, concussion, high ankle sprain, and now his back.. all on that list.

Before the injuries piled up, he was a solid quarterback but has always had decision-making issues and awful deep accuracy, he just had one of the best coaches in the NFL to help scheme around his deficiencies and a cast built to dominate in the shorter areas where he was better.

Jimmy could never consistently make all the throws, and we're now seeing what a guy like that, on a bad team, broken physically, looks like.

On our end, our passing offense looks a lot different now that we can attack all over the field. Obviously Purdy needs to limit turnovers better lately, but we also need the run game to improve if we want to effectively run the PA concepts Kyle loves.
