I really think getting smacked on the head a couple of times, the pressure to make up for a s**tty D, Moody Moodying and the injuries to key players all had an effect. BP will get his groove back. Just gotta go back on that field like he knows he got the biggest c--k in CA. Large and in charge:)

no defense is going to shut out a defense. especially the way the league is set up now. a lot of the opponents drives against our defense have had drives extended by BS flags or non-calls against our DL. There's really nothing the D can do. There is a counter to that, and it starts with the offense putting us in better position.

Well, I mean if the defense could at least stop the run and make offenses look one dimensional like they did most of last season and vs Dallas this season the 49ers offense could get on the field more. But yes I do somewhat agree with you but the 49ers main problem run now is to stop a bleeding run defense.

Let's just say Purdy hasn't been stellar lately, far from it. People sometimes want results fast, and this guy hasn't even completed one full season.
He needs more games, more experience before deemed elite or bust.

Purdy will be just fine once Trent Williams gets back and the running game reappears. Without Williams, the production has been pathetic.

Against the Browns, total rushing yards was 107, most of which came before Williams was hurt and played the rest of the game on one leg.

Against the Vikings, the total was 65 yards, 19 of which was Purdy scrambling out of trouble. (Net 46 yards minus Purdy.)

Against Cincy, the total was 113, with Purdy being the leading rusher with 57 yards. (Net 56 yards minus Purdy.)

With no threat to run, in all three games, opponents dropped players into coverage areas that would not be covered if they had to respect the run game. No QB will perform at a high level with such an unbalanced offense. Without a respected run game, Kyle's scheme doesn't get receivers open nearly as well. This means smaller windows, more chances for turnovers, and fewer points.

the lack of run yds hurts the entire team, D included so does the D not getting off the field, it all feeds into each other

That was my opinion also. Same with Aiyuks drop before the half. Have to catch that as the top playmakers on the team.
