Purdy can easily get to being a top 10 QB with another good season and even be around the top 5 discussion.

This is a good list. Mine would be very similar with some differences here and there.

It's futile to rank Purdy since we have no idea if he can sustain the play he has had. But since Purdy has stepped on the field against Miami, he's been arguably better than any QB not named Mahomes. That's obviously a crazy bar to sustain, but he's been playing like a top 5 QB for over a half a season without having a single poor performance. I'm still stunned by how amazing of a start this is for a QB.

My point being, based on all the available information, Purdy is a top 5 QB until he proves otherwise. Which is kind of a ludicrous position, thus it's futile at this point.
Purdy doesn't have to be statically great, just has to operate Kyle's offense and make a play here and there and avoid making the big guffaw.

It's difficult to have a ton of yards and stuff in this offense because of how talented we are. We are very balanced, which makes sense cause of our rushing attack.

we would have to have an off game and rely on him to carry us, like the raiders game. Even then he didn't break 300 yards.

it's possible but not an easy task with the talent we have and our play calling style.
I want KC SF in the SB and BP makes Pat look like old Brady

I don't see why not? Kyle Shanahan's offense with Atlanta did produce a 5,000 yard passer in Matt Ryan and a 1,100 yard rusher in Devonta Freeman.

I think this is partly Kyle's offense too. Those areas are usually behind the LBs out of their usual focus and the 2 safeties has to cover a lot of ground. With weapons like CMC, they have to have eyes around that first 5-7yards. You bring guys like Aiyuk, sometimes Deebo, and sometimes Kittle in between that 10-19 yds. Just look at the Rams game.

No way would I have Prescott above Purdy. I think Tua should be higher also. After this year I feel Hurts will plummet also. Still don't know the fascination with Jackson. Outside of his running he's a mediocre passer, small and fragile. I truly feel this season puts Sturdy Purdy in the top 5 talk. So far this year, I'd be correct.

Why do we hold our QBs to such a low standard?

Historically, 49ers have always needed great QB play to win championships.

Greatness is the expectation this year.

Their defense was giving up a lot of points, not shutting teams down like we are. A lot of our games with Brock have been over by halftime or the third. We have only had one game where he really had to carry us.

when you're balanced and have a top 3 defense - having a ton of stats isn't likely. You typically get high stats when you're in a shootout or a close game.

in 2016, the falcons defense was giving up like 25 points a game.

He was ranking them overall… not just based on this year.

For me, I think I agree with the poster (a few posts up) who says it's too early to rank Purdy. Same with Jordan Love.

If Purdy were to play as he has going forward I could see him ranked as high as 5th, behind the four QBs I think the vast majority of people would consider elite.

This is pretty cool. Hopefully, it will be a sign of things to come.

Brock Purdy's cleats and the game ball from Week 1 are on display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

"The first artifacts from the 2023 NFL season have arrived at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. And the shipment includes 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy's shoes and a game ball from the season-opening victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Purdy's souvenirs will be on display at the Hall of Fame after he became the first player in NFL history to win his first six regular-season starts while also throwing multiple touchdown passes in each of the games. While finishing the Week 1 win with a passer rating of 111.3, Purdy became the first quarterback in NFL history to register a passer rating of 95 or better in each of his first regular-season starts".

you misunderstand him

we are one of the most efficient offenses every year we are top of the league in YPA and yards/play. You don't do that without great QB play. He is saying you don't have to throw for 300+ yard games to win

Helps when you have Julio Jones. Not to mention an established QB like Ryan. Not dissing Deebo or Aiyuk, but Julio, 6-3 4.39 40
