The season is still beginning. Those 3rd down timing throws need to be repped more in practice. Timing was just off with Brock in the Rams game. Those three overthrows probably affected that 3rd down stat a bit.

That is why I said it was something to keep an eye on and didn't say it was something to panic over. However, the results are the results at this point.

Were all 3 of those over throws on 3rd down? I know that 1 of them was but not sure about the other 2.

So 2 of his 10 incompletions on 3rd down were deep shot over throws. If he does hit those 2, that would put him at a 46.7% conversion rate. Which would be close to his conversion rate last season.

I much prefer Sing, no offense, but Tomsula to me is a DL coach. Sing is a HOFer and a Samurai.

But a terrible coach.

He was a good coach. He got Vernon turned around. That's how you handle players who aren't bought in on the concept of team.
We needed to go thru those years, I mean his one full season, look who they gave him as QB1 to start the season, Shaun Hill
Alex in those days, was garbage

That's a great tidbit.

Good motivator, but had NO CLUE about the X's and O's of the game. Best suited as an assistant to the Head Coach.

I would necessarily agree on coaching staff I feel it was solid. That style of offense didn't put up flashy numbers or route concepts for sure which is why our coaching staff is always poached. Vic Fangio was/is one of the best DC in the league I'm actually surprised he wasn't poached in hindsight (maybe he just wanted to be with Harbaugh).

GM yes Baalke was awful. Harbaugh was inherited a great team that was sabatoged by terrible coaching and we did not draft well to supplement the team. The WR on those teams were a huge liability.

I remember against the packers in the playoffs we had to start Brett Swain what an embarrassment

Offensive staff ritz. Geep Chryst John Morton Reggie Davis. None did much after in NFL. Solari is still around but I've never been super impressed with his groups. See what he does with Cowboys.

Roman still has no clue how to call a pass offense over a decade later.

I think comments like this are worse than what is happening in this thread.

I am begging you and begging everyone else in here.....PLEASE do not take any sort of criticism on Brock and claim people are hating on Brock (like was done for years in the Jimmy thread). With the exception of maybe 4 or 5 posters, EVERYONE is happy with Brock Purdy. Lets not create imaginary battle lines and pit our fans against each other. We have been through that enough over the years.

Not sure if it was clear but I was joking

Well you got Faithful to agree it was happening and multiple people replying to you that it wasnt happening. So it wasnt clear, but glad to know you were joking.

Sing and Jim are very similar in that regard. Harbaugh was just much better at picking assistants, especially on D.

Offensively however both their egos are too big to give full control to someone who actually knows what they are doing in the pass game.

Glad Brock has Kyle.
