I personally think QBR is better than passer rating... because it attempts to isolate the QB's play as an individual. Passer rating is a team stat in practice. I don't think either should be taken very seriously... at least in small samples. Nothing beats looking at film.

You watch film still!? Seems a little outdated. I don't think I've ever seen film in my life. Just stream it man.

Think I agree with you, I just understand the formula for rating better. Analytics that take variables into account that I can't personally can't compute is my only issue with QBR. At any rate, dude is THERE. I just hope his contract extension doesn't put him in the Burrows/Mahomes category.

Yeah passer rating is real easy to calculate. ESPN doesn't show how they calculate QBR but that makes a lot of sense because it's attempting to measure a QB's individual impact on a game and there are going to be factors involves that change on a game by game basis. Every play isn't measured in a vacuum if that makes any sense.

Exactly. My understanding is that it tries to calculate how much the QB contributed to the team win rather than posting personal stats.

I really wanted him to succeed, but that was probably because we'd just finished with Erickson and Nolan, who was more focused on wearing a suit than helping the team. I was hyped at first but I quickly realize all he was doing was motivation. Lol it's crazy that harbaugh took his team and we became elite almost over night.

Third down is a great time to throw deep because defenses are overly concerned with the sticks. And if we want to win the Super Bowl, he needs to hit wide open deep passes. Even Trent Dilfer hit those in 2000. I'm not saying he can't. He's done it before. But we need him in a grove this year to where he's not missing wide open chunk plays 75% of the time.

It's like Presidential administrations... a key part of the job is the staff you surround yourself with. Singletary had a joke staff and Harbaugh had a quality one (hate for Roman in these parts aside).

The team was obviously very talented. We burned at least a year prior to Harbaugh showing up. Couldn't win a god awful division with easily the most talented team in 2010... in spite of Jed's embarrassing guarantee, lol.
