Love the breakdown on the first INT and that delicate balance between trusting the play call and trusting your eyes concurrently. Granted, blind PA reduces the time to "see" what's in front of you but these are the traps he falls into still...even getting greedy on the shotgun 2nd INT when he does see everything from start to finish. Just a bad decision. Period.

Thanks for the content, Jonny. Your work is much appreciated as always.
What I have seen lately is that Jimmy does not sell the run fake as well as he has in the past. Is this a product of him not trusting the o line to hold up long enough to let the play develop or is it something else?

No, he's doing far more out of shotgun (way less with his back to the defense; blind play action). This makes it easier to actually see the ball for defenders and not bite as hard. That's what made that INT from Wagner a bit more impressive because that was a blind play action and he didn't bite and dropped back right into the passing lane just in time for the INT.
That said, his fake handoffs from shotgun (esp.) have seemed kind of "lazy" but I (think) that might because he's already looking down the field and not really focusing on really selling it.

I don't hate on Jimmy much but man, to me, he has always been terrible at selling play fakes -- at least compared to what I've seen around the league.

Even his play action from under center has looked lazy lately. That was one of the things that I would praise him on. I thought his ability to sell the fake in 2019 was one of the reasons why our play action was so deadly. If you want a linebacker to bite on the play fake, you have to sell it by making it look like an actual hand off. Even moreso from shotgun.

Totally agree.
