What you want to do is talk to the guy-get in his head. Plus with no combine it is a chance to match what you saw on film. For QBs-does the ball pop from his hand.

After hearing Cossell mirroring another breakdown I heard yesterday about Fields, it's between two realistic QB's for me (I think Lawrence and Wilson are out at #1 & #2, respectively):
Trey Lance and Mac Jones.
And like Cossell said, it really just comes down to philosophy between a classic drop back QB in Jones who can do everything within structure but who struggles with off schedule ability or a raw QB in Lance who can do it all with his traits but needs to be refined to learn everything as a raw clay mold.
This is tough. My brain tells my Jones because I think he'd be the easiest to develop for Kyle and if we nearly won a Superbowl with Garoppolo, he should have little issue with Jones given he's on a rookie QB contract and can build a super group roster like Tampa around him. On the other hand, Lance has the ability to transform an offense and has the luxury to sit and learn like Mahomes, Young, Rodgers, Brady, etc. but is going to require Kyle in his ear hole 24-7 for a couple years (1 learning, 1 playing).
Safest vs. Boom or Bust?
My mind tells me Jones but my heart, Lance.
But you don't trade up this high for safe. I think Kyle wants a project and he loves challenges and he's got that ego. It's Trey Lance.
