DC Candidates if Robert Saleh Leaves | Page 5

It seems like he's bound to get a HC gig after this season, so what are our options? I've heard Raheem Morris, Gus Bradley, and Dan Quinn mentioned by some... but I'm personally not a huge fan of any of them. Two names I would consider that had successful defenses at one point: Kris Richard and Marvin Lewis. Any other names you guys can think of or pros and cons of the above options?

No more young up and comers who will leave in 2 years. Chiefs did it right. You hire a loser head coach who is a good coordinator and will never be considered for head coach.theyll have stability there for years.

I really disagree with hiring a loser HC who is a great OC. I DO agree with hiring a great OC who can become a good HC, however.

DeMeco Ryans...very bright, knows the defense well, terrific coach. None of the outsiders know Saleh's defense. No-brainer.

Probably right. The other question is who will replace Ryans as the LB coach?

Hell no to Greg Williams, not a fan of his, plus he was the DC for the Saints when he told them to injure Crabtree on purpose. I don't want a dirty coach on the team, I get the whole no nice guys, but I draw the line at coaches or players who are dirty. I'll take a DeMeco Ryans or Raheem Morris as the next DC when Saleh leaves, I just hope we don't lose many assistants, I hope Bobby Turner stays, so Juice re-signs with us. They can have the QB and ST coaches, both suck. Also I want a real WR coach. But keep Koucerk at all costs, pay raise, Assistant HC role, etc.... I want to keep Ryans too even if he isn't DC, but if Saleh decides he doesn't want to call the Defense, then we need to either make Ryans DC or risk losing him, and hope we get a good DC replacement. Saleh will be sorely missed IMO, he's done a fantastic job of getting these players to play the way they are, and did in 2019. He had very little talent in 2017 & 2018, but in 2019 he had talent, and look at the defense this year, despite being 5-9, got the most out of Hyder, Warner finally got Pro Bowl nod, well deserved, about damn time.
