When was the correct time to trade him and how do you know if offers came in but they weren't good enough?

Also what if the FO really thought they could get him resigned by now? I don't blame the FO for waiting to see if they could get him resigned.

Right

Thats why they EXERCISED THE OPTION!

This gives us the chance to secure him at a bargaining rate in order to make time to extend him or at a minimum play him at that rate then tag and trade him in 2025
Look what he is doing to us....it's like the Donner Party in here. He is under contract--that actually means something in other walks of life.
I just don't understand why the NFL teams are over paying WRs. The Pats and Chiefs have won multiple SBs with average receivers. Meanwhile the Niners and Dolphins haven't even though they have good receivers. The NFL is a copycat league. It wasn't long ago when it was RBs that got big money. Then it was CBs . Then it was pass rushers. Of course QBs are always up there. Good WRs are nice to have but not necessary to win the SB.
And Schefty just reports the 49ers are in no hurry to trade Aiyuk. Guess they are doing what everyone has been saying they should do. Man this FO is good

I've been burning the midnight oil trying to calm dudes down in here and I am glad I've been getting some help.

Leave it to these guys we lose BA to the Steelers for next years second and a backup OT and it's virtually a done deal already

SF is about to do the same thing. Get rid of the young player in favor of keeping the older one. drafted his replacement who wasn't even a faction of what the guy they moved was….

SF Won't even get proper compensation for him this time around and get zero assets to help the team in an all in Sb or bust yr.

They f**ked it up so badly.

What should they do? Give into his demands? So the next guy pulls the same s**t?

They should make it clear that he's going nowhere this season.

Right. People have been having breakdowns in here not thinking our FO has the least bit of common sense and an understanding of the leverage they've opted into since last year

Most reliant position in football. If I was a GM my money would go to DLine, Secondary, O line and QB.

Looks like they have, unless there is a great offer

We already saw this with JG

Lynch isn't going to roll over if you under bid

The worst outcome is we keep him for his 5th year option and he is mad at us but he has to play to earn his next contract so oh well

How many SBs between them?

They have as far as I'm concerned but they're not gonna speak in absolutes because there could be a stupid team that backs up the truck and makes us give in but then Aiyuk has to play along as well

There is a slim chance Aiyuk is moved until 2025

Who's having breakdowns, the guy who says he never gets emotional? Lol

Pretty sure Pitt has to take all his prorated signing bonus $ and get it accelerated to hit their cap this yr for them in a trade.

Ah got it. Guess there's no way to make the numbers work then. Either way, the niners seem to be handling this well given they have a lot of leverage/control. I don't think Aiyuk is being advised well on his side - the best situation is for him to sign with the 49ers.

They were a collective 0-3 in super bowls.
