It doesn't matter. We keep hearing about how this team needs to win but you are going to make your team much worse by trading your best WR for a draft pick? If you are sending the message that this is a win now team, You add key players, don't lose them. It's not like they can't afford Aiyuk currently. He is cheap for the next couple of years.

Really hoping we can make it work and keep Aiyuk. Would be a massive mistake imo to let him leave unless we somehow nail a draft WR in the next couple of drafts.
i'd take deebo hands down. you can find another wr like aiyuk. you can't find another deebo.
Totally agree. Its YAC all day with Deebo and always a threat. Juan Jennings isn't too much of a drop off from Aiyuk and could step in right away for him. The 49ers don't have another receiver on the squad that could step right in Nd be effective on field like Deebo.
Yup, the offense hums way more nicely when Deebo is in. I love Aiyuk though and I hope we can keep him long term.
Yah don't get me wrong, I love Aiyuk too. I'm glad he's next to Deebo, I'm just not seeing the #1 WR in him like we do Deebo.

Deebo is a better weapon but Aiyuk is a better pure WR. Much better route runner, longer arms, better hands. Deebo is better with the ball in his hands.

Yes that might be true in 3 years but Aiyuk is cheap for the next 3 years(even if you extend him because usually the 1st year of their new contract is pretty cheap). And Deebo is expensive for the next 3 years, But you can get out of his contract after that 3rd year for pretty cheap. Deebo and Aiyuk's contract will not be expensive at the sametime. Also I expect Trent Williams to retire within the next 3 years, So that money will be off the books. Armstead's contract will also expire. Add that with the cap rising each season and there is no reason why the Niners can't keep them both. Atleast for the next 3 years.
Exactly! I don't know why people can't see this I've been explaining exactly what you said to you a bunch of Niner fans and they still don't get it. We need two good receivers to help our offense because it was finally scoring over 30 points a game and looking like a juggernaut. This is the only way we are going to out score teams like the Chiefs or the Bills. We can definitely keep both of them for 2-3 more years

I'd move him, reluctantly, for a first rounder. He was a first rounder and he's producing and he is not injury prone. Nothing has diminished his value. Unless we get a first rounder in return, I'll be heart broken.

Agree. You need to keep both guys as they are equally important. Yuk can beat man to man much more where that's not Deebos strong suite but Deebo can bruise up a D with the ball in his hands and go to the house.
It's two different styles and skills that makes it harder on defenses, along with what these guys offer CMC, Kittle, Juice, Mitchell, Mason, Tdp and hopefully Gray this year.

We can save even more money and get even more picks if we trade Bosa, McCaffrey, Kittle, and a few others. Has John Fisher taken over the Niners? Aiyuk is young, healthy and improving. A good percentage of first round picks bust. I see no reason to trade him.

Lol right?
let's move proven ballers or young talent for unknowns…in a s**t draft. Thank god half our fan base isn't in control of this team.

There are similarties, but IMO, the biggest difference is that Defo didn't want to leave while a few of us have been saying for the last year that we believe that Aiyuk is unhappy here. If Aiyuk isn't a 49er in the future, I think that coupled with finances will to be the catalyst to his departure.
Also, i still think it was the right move. I wish they had, at least, discussed an actual extension though.
I separate the pick did not working out from the trade though.

They got nothing for Mike McGlinchey's 5th year option and lost him to FA. Strike while the iron's hot.
I'd rather keep Aiyuk for this upcoming season and then maybe trade him in his fifth year if we have a viable alternative
Aiyuk is going to get you a 1+. There's your RT and/or LT of the future. Then you don't have to pay that 5th year option. This isn't a pass centric offense. We don't need lots of 1K receivers. He's clearly not thrilled to play in this offense. It's smart business whether we like it or not.
We need one 1000 yard WR.

I don't get the whole Aiyuk is unhappy in SF talk, he said he loves being in Cali, loves being a 49er, and wants to be a 49er long term, plus now you see what happened, his agent calls him, he thinks he got traded, was ready to kick doors in at the facility, he doesn't want to go anywhere, enough BS that Aiyuk wants out, not true. And we can afford Aiyuk long term, plus Deebo, & our core.
