so he cant play or get cut until he pays them back??
Arbitration over the forfeiture is independent from his contractual rights. The team could choose to hold onto his rights at the cost of a roster spot and cap space, trade the contract (unlikely), or terminate the contract.

0% chance he gets traded. No one is taking on that contract.

Its either a cut or Aiyuk apologies plays out the year buried in the depth chart and cut at the end of the season.

Rip off the band-aid and cut him as soon as possible. They will have to see what they can do to get the signing bonus back but my guess is that money is spent and gone
I don't think kittle likes aiyuk based on his interview

Drew Rosenhaus is a smart man. Represents all the thugs in the league (I think he was Steve Young's agent as well IIRC). He knows what he's getting Aiyuk into and I think he's got it all figured out. He doesn't get paid unless BA does so I just don't see a scenario where BA sits on the side not collecting any paychecks.

maybe a redone contract that gives BA an out with SF getting a semi-clean break.

…or he gets BA get on his knees and beg for mercy and he's suited up opposite Evans against Minnesota in Mexico City
Wonder if Aiyuk rips up contract (nothing guaranteed) if that could reduce dead money in future years to help offset money he owes and make it easier to cut his ass.

Maybe this whole meeting was just setup by the local police as a sting operation. Even Drew was part of it.

Stinging him like a Jed 140

Kittle calls a spade a spade and I like that about him

IMO this is the quickest solution. Rework the contract to lighten the dead cap situation in exchange for the $13M owed. Then likely release. Trading would be nice to control where he goes, but unlikely at this point. In a utopian world, redo the contract and he plays for 49ers rest of this year to reestablish value and then free agent in offseason. I think that bridge is burnt though.

Where that money is, is not the 49ers' problem, it will be BA's.
