I'd like to see it burried and move on. We are about a month away from preseason. Time to move on with the possitives and bury this. Let him be someone elses problem. It was interesting off-season humor but now we are close to camp and preseason. The humor is over. Bury it.

It's a business his problem was taking it personally. He thought he could do whatever he wants and it all be forgiven. Getting out of that god awful contract is the biggest win we've had in a while.

Hence why I maintain that what we're watching from this young man is a clear mental break. I know many here don't like when I say that, but it's true. I'm not trying to excuse his behavior, just trying to explain it. Normal thinking human beings don't act in this fashion. We're hardwired for self-preservation. When we're acting in ways that clearly go against our own self-preservation a mental break has occurred somehow, somewhere in the head.

At this point, I think this young man is far past crash-out. He's in full mental crisis, and somebody close to him need to get their hands on him, real soon.

You are correct. But I think it's fair to say people have tried. Someone has to be open to being helped.

yeah he's mentally unwell, and i guarantee you knowing the quality of our men in the locker room we have gone above and beyond to get him the help he needs, and i'm sure he has family and friend concerned but at the end of the day you simply cannot help someone who is unwilling

the reality is we see the aldon situation and this is different but similar, just a guy out of his dang mind, what a shame

Cannot disagreed with you there. And for all we know people close to him just may be attempting to talk sense into him. But if that's the case it just proves my point. If people close to him are attempting to logically reach him (like I'm positive they have), and he's still operating like this, then something indeed has broken in him mentally.

At the end of the day, it's Bradon and his family that'll have pay the piper on this. It's just sad because this young man has a wife and child that depend on him fanatically. So "selfish" and "immature" can't explain this behavior.

Chicago needs to learn some people are just a*****es

he has had a lot of teammates and coaches over the years and I haven't seen someone close to him say they are worried and this is unusual for BA

BA received a lot of money and now he thinks he's untouchable

maybe it's a lil from column a and a lil from column b

kyle said this is unprecedented in his however many years, and he's run into a holes i'm sure, plenty of precedent for that
Can someone explain what happens if he doesn't apply for reinstatement like it says in the post? They won't have to cut him and take the $26 million cap hit. Am I right? At what point do they go after that bonus money already paid? If they get that bonus money does the cap space get reinstated? Never mind the psycho stuff. If the subject is politics just turn on the news-too depressing.

Word! We should thank him.

You know, at this point, AIyuk needs to cut a deal with youtube or instagram and start his own daytime drama. I mean he already is playing a part, real or imagined, so why not make some money on the side? He could call it the Side Hustler with Brandon Aiyuk.

True, tough to take Kyle's word even if it's true. Since Kyle and BA are tied together as employee/boss currently. The statement on BAs health would need to be someone closer, Mother, wife, current/former teammate, etc type of figure

It's the plan. He's been renewing his material too. Started with speeding car, then wearing Commanders gear, then vocally calling out 49ers, now calling out Jaylen and mom. Never know who he's gonna blame next to keep the material fresh.
Now Pro Football Rumors has Aiyuk accusing the niners of lying to the media saying a return would be 'forthcoming' after Aiyuk made clear he would no longer play for the team. Then it goes on to say the team has footage and gps data showing he was at the team facility when he was required to be there.
Now if he was there you couldn't get 100% of the employees lie for the team. If he said he would never play for them that could be insubordinate enough to void the contract one would assume. Sounds like his attitude gave the team an inch and the team took a mile. I think his issues are domestic. It all started after he got married and the big checks started rolling in.

I don't think that footage and gps data was with the team. He rehabbed away from the team, and the data from that rehab showed he was hitting his marks (according to him).

We are completely off the hook, it's essentially retirement. To the bolded I doubt thats how it works, he broke the contract detrimentally. Now the question is if he comes to his senses, files for reinstatement and shows up a year or two later do we have that cap hit if we cut him? This was my point on just cutting him at the beginning of this. Get it out of the way because I don't want a sudden massive cap it throwing a wrench into our team at any given year

If he never files for reinstatement the 49ers will be able to recoup his prorated bonus amounts in each year for the remaining 3 years of his contract. If/when they successfully recover the cash, it would be applied as a credit to the cap.

If they never successfully recover the cash, they will still get to spread out his cap hits as they are currently applied over the life of his contract, and not take a large dead cap hit over this year and next.
That's important stuff. Reminds me of a coworker who wasn't getting along with his wife. They had too many assets for him to give up half in a divorce so she stuck around to make his life miserable hoping he would kill himself. Then she would have gotten everything. His issues affected his work and he got fired.

Remember boxer Mike Tyson? Got married just before a $50 million boxing match. Right after the match his marital problems quickly escalated.
