Appreciate your correction. FWIW I still think your wording is poor here. Post implies they are actively searching for him and he's a fugitive.
Crazy how none of this would have happened if Ayiuk did not get injured in that Chiefs game.

I remember that sequence of events. 49ers were desperate for a win at home playing against the Chiefs. Ayiuk had dropped an easy, game changing catch.

Ayiuk then got desperate because of his poor play and went all out on a "hospital" pass thrown by Brock over the center of the field and got severely injured.

If that sequence of events does not happen, I don't think Ayiuk is being arrested today.
I feel bad for the guy honestly. All that money and it seems like he is living in hell.

Probably not in CA at least, lol. Would have been traded for a cheap, but decent, return following the season I'm sure.

a friend who is SCPD relayed that they were looking for him to me, in early March.. i assumed, since nothing has happened since then, the warrant was placed.

as for fugitive i have no clue. The warrant was active since late Feb it looks like

It was filed then, but SFGATE reported today it is still being 'processed'. I think your police friend was probably being loose with his words. They'll arrest him if he doesn't turn himself in and they see him in public, but it's not a manhunt. Semantics I guess.

google is saying Feb 24th is when the warrant became active

but yes.. it was probably loosely. I didn't assume there was a frantic manhunt when hearing they were looking for him at the time. i just waited patiently for the news that never happened (actual some type of action from SCPD / BA). So I assumed todays news of the warrant, was because he's not in town. which is incorrect.

But there was a reason to announce todays news after months of the warrant being active (according to google).. maybe it's to get him back in town or maybe someone trying to screw his situation up even further.

Would guess The Post obtained court records or a tip from law enforcement and then confirmed it with the DA's office.

Aiyuk might not have known about it. Definitely does now. Would be surprised if he doesn't turn himself in here shortly.

He posted a clip of himself today on a race track... There's really something off with him.

Nah. The entire contract fiasco should have been a warning sign for Shanahan and Lynch. The guy was off his rocker making demands on who he wanted to be traded to and under what circumstances. Then flips decision last second just to stay here but never really had his head in the game after signed contract.

Team was headed towards a messy divorce regardless of the injury. The injury has just added more drama to the situation.
Getting injured after getting his bag is all a player can pray for knowing it could happen at any time. Hard to feel sorry for anybody who's got a dollar more than me much less millions.

I really think Aiyuk getting married has more to do with his problems. He's a parent and probably no prenup. Now her attitude changes knowing she's on easy street. Why not give up the bonus money if it goes to her?

You e never had the 'need for speed' ?
Damn, the police are really trying to smear BA's squeaky-clean name.

Was it a hospital pass?

People throw that out a lot any time a wr gets hit it seems.

His injury has more to do with rule changes that force players to hit guys low.
