You answered your own question. Seems like hes only interested in wash and will go there on his terms.

I will say that NIL money is making it a little easier to see how some of these kids handle money so that should be a slight help but some guys were getting money before, just under the table. It still won't give a team a great read on whether a guy is all in or not.

NIL is increasing the age of draftees bc they are staying in school longer .

its also making later rounds more "hollow" in talent .

NFL and NBA are both seeing this .
so BA comes out of his cave on June 1 after Shannalynch happily kick him to the curb, then the Redskins sign him for..... anyone? anyone? Bueller?

my guess he gets a 1 year deal for $12M laden with incentives, pending a successful physical

That's one million per route run...that's insane. Dude is worthless.

Yeah...not ideal but not much you can do about it. Can't blame kids for sticking around to get guaranteed money and choose where they want to go in their early 20s.

Nah. He stopped showing up to required meetings which put him in violation of his contract. The contract guarantees ended up getting voided in the summer. Then Aiyuk started showing up at the facility. Everything seemed fine and the beat reporters were talking about him getting activated in late September, early October. Lynch and Shanahan start getting dodgy about Aiyuk's timeline, then things just hit the fan in mid October. A month later, reports start coming out that Aiyuk hasn't been at the facility in a month and he quit.

I edited my post for clarity because it was poorly written in relation to the timeline.

I meant he didn't abandon the team until November, when it was leaked that they voided his guarantees in July.

Hey clearly violated the terms of their agreement which made it possible for them to void all his GTD cash. The fact that he didn't fight it at all kinda backups the idea that he was in the wrong.

Instead of coming to do his job which means getting healthy with the team's resources. He chose to ghost the team. He's lost a ton of cash that he will never recoup. He could have done his job and helped this team down the stretch. The fan base and FO would have forgave him if he did that. Instead he did the opposite….it's wild for many reasons, I mean Lynch's BF is both their agent. Awkward

I would say the NIL is only increasing the age of non first round picks. I would expect first round picks to leave due to guaranteed money and getting their clock started, non first round picks are better off milking the NIL system for all they can get.

You're assuming he can pass a physical, he suffered a major injury with three torn ligaments. People keep having this idea that he could of played last year, I seriously doubt it still.

That kind of injury can end careers, you have to be fully committed in recovery and even then you kind of need to be an alien to come back the same player. He never was committed, even before we took his guarantees back the writing was on the wall

In another year or two, this impact will have been flushed through and the flow of young players will be back to a more normal situation. This is still a developing story...
