more rumors.

Aiyuk for CB Greg Newsome II and some Day 3 picks (Browns)

I like Newsome but I just don't see us actually trading Yuk.
Getting him off the books this year falls in line with the slashing prices that's going on.

It does but goddamn does it make us look retarded

I love the word retarded. Not towards a specific group of people, but just certain situations and certain people. I don't use it anymore because of society. I'm glad someone is still using it

If we knew BA would be 100% and soon. No issues. But if half a season before he's anvailabke and still some questions then I understand trading him.
And doesn't he have an out after 26' aswell?

If that's the case that's alot of money invested in a guy you may only get a year of production out of.

This is why you trade a guy as soon as they escalate negotiations to the point of demanding a trade. We bowed down to his shenanigans and now are stuck with a bad deal.

Yep he should be the Steelers problem now.
I was wanting to get draft picks for him as I thought 2024 would be tough to bounce back after losing the SB. SF be in better shape today even without a talent like Aiyuk.

We will see, cause I think during the beginning of the season we will be without his talents. Lol.
If any trade is to be done, it'll be before April 1st.

Hopefully we get rid of him. It hurts but it's time to let go.
I'm a little surprised Tee Higgins contract is actually less then Aiyuks. They have been easy to compare being the same draft class/age.

One guy's coach didn't barge into the negotiations forcing his teams hand to meet the players demands.

One is WR1 and the other is WR2 and has to deal with the WR1 on his team asking for $40 million. It's called leverage.
Its his Birthday today.

Aiyuk had to deal with CMC, Kittle, and Deebos contract though.

And over the past 3 years, Aiyuk and Higgins have actually played the exact amount of games of 40.
Aiyuk in those 40 games has 266 targets for an avg of 6.65 targets a game. Higgins has 294 targets in 40 games at 7.35 targets a game.

It doesn't matter. Deebo wasn't considered WR1 and got his deal 2 years prior to Aiyuk IIRC. Higgins and Chase were getting them done at the same time and that's with Burrow already getting his huge deal.

These are totally different $ amounts at play with QB, WR1 vs RB, TE and WR 2 years prior who was nowhere near Chase level.

Since they don't seem to care about dead cap money… maybe the plan is to take the cash AND cap hit by trading him after 4/1 - if it means improving the draft picks coming back
