The 9ers allowed him to test the waters and the test game back not positive for $30m plus.

I do hope they hold their guns. It's out of control.

That's what was actually dumb about this whole thing. Allowing him to test waters, demand trades and so on. He's on a 5th year option. He and his agent had zero leverage. But we stupidly allowed it to him. It only served to bump up the price and there was no need for it. No need to allow it. It only put us at a strategic disadvantage.

His only leverage is to threaten to sabotage the team by continuing the holdout into the season. It would almost surely be counterproductive from a financial point of view, but being willing to burn your own world down can be a negotiating tactic.
Geez, get to work already lolol
He's under the 5thb year option. He either ends hold-in and shows up by week 6 or this season doesn't count and we do this all over again next year (per the collective bargaining agreement. Right???)

tell em Jules!

suck it, steeler fans.
Grant Cohn covers the 49ers for Sports Illustrated, and he believes that Aiyuk will end up in Pittsburgh.

Got this quote from Steelers nation lol. If they listen to this tool they are peeing in the wind thinking BA is coming to Pittsburgh.

So the Steelers offer was worse than was reported. Why would we take this, and why would Aiyuk go there for less than $28M.

Time for Aiyuk to sign and get his reps in.

Honestly, he never truly wanted to go to Pitt. I'm sure he would have played there if he was paid over market value. There was way too many moving parts for him to be moved. (Necessary contract, proper compensation and willing to play on that team).

this was never about being traded regardless of him "demanding a trade" it was about creating supply/demand variables and forcing SF to go above what they offered back in May.

sounds like it worked. Bro never wanted to leave, he moved his family to CA. He knows who butters his bread lol.

fans will get over it the moment he starts catching TDs this yr.

He felt like we lowballed him. At that point, he absolutely wanted to go to Pitt. Then Pitt lowballed him.

Aiyuk just found he's not a top five receiver in this league.

His contract says he's worth $15M this year. We're offering him a raise and 2 years guaranteed. But hes not Jefferson, Amon Ra, or Cedee

THAT'S all he's worth... he NO superstar... he's just becoming a STAR in fact.. he sholdn't be making more than 25 a years.. WHY ??

WE saw useless he was in the Super Bowl.. Shanny did not even use him.. so if our HC isn't gonna be aware that YUCK is playing, then why pay the guy more that 25?

He was wide open on 2 plays but the ball didn't get thrown to him. The two biggest plays of the game. The 3rd and 4 with under 2 minutes to play in the game that would have likely sealed the game for the Niners. But Brock went to Jennings instead and the ball got tipped. Aiyuk was open by like 7-8 yards. Then there was the play in OT where he was open in the endzone but Jones blew up the blame and Brock targetted Jennings again but due to the pressure it was not completed. And even with that he did have 49 yards.

the play was designed to go to 15, it was designed all the way to go to 15... YUCK would have been the last choice and would have gotten the ball had SHANNY advised a TE, or a FB to help a young OL to block 95.. but it was not B-ROCK STEADY PURDY's fault he had to get rid of the ball ASAP..

also, why even throw the ball when you have 2 downs to get a simple 4 yards with the best RB in the NFL... the same is the same exact STUPID call w/the Falcons and how Ryans got sacked in that Super Bowl.. RUN THE BALL.. go ask PETE CARROLL..

Well that's the problem right there. With the game on the line you should be going to your best WR if you are passing the ball. So if you fail, atleast you can say you targeted your #1 guy.

Suprise is important too, the Eagles pulled an eligible QB move when the SB was on the line against Belicheck.

Whatever play was called we didn't execute properly.
Maiocco on KNBR believes that 9ers offer is better than Pitt's. Are we even sure that BA has agreed to the Steelers contract offer?
