RIP Chris Doleman

Apologies if this belongs in the general NFL thread, but ...

I remember Chris Doleman most for the three years he played with the 49ers. He was near the end of his career, but I recall him playing well for us in the mid to late 90s. Apparently he passed after a long battle with cancer. RIP

Oh no

He had 3 solid years here, I believe 10-12+ sacks every year. He was part of those veteran teams from that 1995-1998 post SB29 chase for 6.

I had no idea he was battling cancer, may he RIP.

Sucks we couldn't get over the hump to get #6 when Doleman was here, but he was certainly a part of the reason we were remotely in the contender conversation while he was with us.

The 97 team had Doleman, Kevin Greene, Rod Woodson, Ken Norton, Stubblefield and Merton Hanks all on the same defense. Unbelievable collection of talent.

Doleman was a pass rusher and Dalman was a guard if I remember correctly ...
