Skip to the 9:53 mark because I thought what Wiley said was interesting as it sounds like he talked to someone on the Chiefs side of things but it sounds like they are legit concerned about our running game.

Based on my memory, we were pretty good at stopping screen passes but Reid is next level at running them. He times them perfectly and usually his teams execute them well. Also, I do remember jet sweep working against us vs the Rams.
I hope Saleh has something up his sleeve to combat them.
To me its missed tackles... I see two ways the chiefs shred our defense.
1) Kelce - The tight end has given the cover 3 fits in the past. Who knows how the Saints game would of ended up had Cooks not gotten knocked out of the game.
2) Missed tackles - I have nightmares of Mahomes hitting Hill for 60 yard passes for a few TDs because Bosa or whoever just barely misses that one tackle giving Mahomes that 3 extra seconds that kills a defense. Or the Hill outside runs, we have the speed at LB to squash those plays off the bat but one missed tackle... and we have guys that just shadowed Watkins & Kelce 20 yards down the field trying to come back to make a tackle on one of the most elusive guys in the league.
I think one of the least talked about strengths of this defense has been their tackling ability this yr. This defense has to be tops or near it in fewest missed tackles.
Stat guru's...does anyone know how to find this out?

I know a lot of you all are uber confident going into the game, but I think it's going to be tough to stop that track team in KC.
Can the 49ers hold that offense to 24 to 27 pts, which is about 16 pts less than they are averaging through the playoffs? If so, can the 49ers still get to 30 if for some reason they are unable to run?
I think I saw today that the Chiefs and 49ers are 1 and 2 in PPG in games started by Mahomes & Garoppolo. The over/under for this game keeps going up. My heart can't take a Rams-Chiefs game from 11/19/19. If I want to watch a Thunder/Warriors game, I'll watch the NBA.

I'm at the live podcast for PFT at the Playwrite Irsh Pub right now. After three show, Florio came over and he referenced how nervous he was doing his first live podcast.
I said, "Mike, you looked pretty nervous up there. Did you piss your pants like Garoppolo?" He lost it.
You're welcome Faithful.
I hope this story is true, I wish you captured the look on his face after you said that to him
I do have a funny pic of his face that was pretty close to his reaction to my comment.
Prove it
Without TinyPic, I'm lost on posting pics here anymore.

I'd be more worried about the tackling if Spoon was still starting. But now we have good tacklers across the field in the secondary.
This is true. Defense has been tackiling well at all levels - Dline to Safties. But I think Rick may be referring missed tackles in regard to QB scrambles. Something that has kill us in the past. And it should be a concern against a great thrower and good scrambler like Mahomes.
In regards to #1, I think Greenlaw, Alexander, and Warner will be able to do a decent job of slowing down Kelce. Or at least I hope.

Um, we faced a defensive end like him every year for the previous four seasons. I think his name was Frank Clark....

Is that Whitlock trying to be a Mahomes fan boy? Man that is embarrassing.

Clearly based on his mouth, he's still a Cheathawk at heart. Who is he lining up against this week? Staley or McGlinchey?

Clark says he's going to be "mic up" on Sunday night. I think he's going to be FUBAR on Sunday night.

I should of been clearer but you nailed what I was getting at.
Im not worried about tackling in general, Im worried about tackling Mahomes. Qbs have been able to put moves on our D line in the past, if that happens with Mahomes its a simple wrist flick 60 yard gain.
Saying that, outside of the obvious D line success, I think we have an LB group that they havent seen anything like it this year. Warner excels in coverage, Alexander is going to be one of the first guys to the ball and Greenlaw is clutch. Watching the Chiefs playoffs games you see LBs caught in no mans land and letting Mahomes go wild. With this group he wont have that luxury, as long as Saleh is preaching attack Mahomes the second your zone is cleared.

He's from Kansas City and a Chiefs fan so I'm willing to give him a pass.
I'd rather these guys wear their fandom on their sleeves than pretend to be objective when they are clearly not so I at least know where he's coming from.

Not surprising, he's a former Seahawks player. Everything about that organization sucks.
