The NFL is part of that system and the game itself an escape from reality, pure and simple, and it's an escape that we likely won't have for too many more years to enjoy as the chickens come home to roost. Enjoy the game while we have it, but don't pretend it's a privilege, wake the hell up.

Blaming capitalism is like blaming the gun for a shooting, it's just the implement, not the cause. It's the selfishness and greed of man that will ultimately destroy us, which is constant no matter the current system. Any system we contrive, no matter how well meaning to begin with, is eventually turned to self serving ends because the heart of mankind is universally corrupt. Power and wealth is inevitably concentrated into the hands of a few who lust after personal wealth, power and control. Man's desire for conquest, wealth, superiority and domination would have always led to the situation we face now, no matter the political or economic system that was prevalent.
