Last year we had very few sacks, with and without Bosa and we still won.

Explain "impact"?

Did G. Halton have a major impact on yesterdays game?

We could pressure the QB until Bosa got hurt last year. We had 4 sacks in 2+ games with him. He also had the clinching plays in the first two games. He got hurt early in week 3. Still finished top 5 on the team in sacks. We got 16 sacks total the rest of the way without him. When he went out the entire defense changed and was bottom of the league. We won games with smoke and mirrors and because we averaged over 30 pts a game down the stretch.

So lets get back to smoke and mirrors, cause we won a ton last year.

Almost the #1 seed, almost got into the NFCCG.

Bosa playing like this is even better than Myles Garrett. He is already charting a course on DPOY this year

Myles Garrett gets all the hype and better stats, but he is only marginally, if that much, "better" than Bosa.

When Bosa is healthy, he is constantly double teamed, held, and something that doesn't show up on the stat sheet is how much QB's rushed to get rid of the ball before Bosa could get there. Those plays don't show up as "pressures", but there was a few throws vs the Rams where Stafford got rid of the ball way prematurely in anticipation of Bosa winning.

Hippy Lettuce???

This is one heck of a statement. MG is the best at his position and it isn't even close.

He was the best LAST year. This year… He can't stay on the field.

And when Fred Warner was hurt last year everyone still knew he was the best linebacker in the NFL by a wide margin

He was great again. Didn't finish but had at least 5 pressures.

We are paying about a million per pressure

thats a dumb way to look at it.

We are paying what 100K per tackle for Fred Warner?
We are paying over a 1.5 million per TD pass for Brock Purdy?

If you dont see the impact Bosa brings then i don't know what to tell you. Just go look at last years statistics for the d-line. Or maybe just open your eyes and see the impact he brings. But you probably just hate him for other reasons.

I agree. It's hard to believe people still overlook Bosa's impact on the field. Last season, our defense was day and night with and without him.

Not sure why he gets overlooked? Last year Niners won their first 2 game due to Bosa getting pressure at the end. As soon as he went out we couldn't get after anyone the rest of the year

Bosa blew up a few plays yesterday as usual. He is a massive difference maker.

I think it's because he doesnt have sack numbers. That is not the whole picture, Bosa bloke up plays all day yesterday. If sacks were the only measurement great DE's would have 34 sacks a season.17x2.

He's being paid like a premier pass rusher like MG.

The rookie G. Halton broke up a ton of plays yesterday! Very disruptive.

The market for elite edge rushers has exploded since Boss signed the contract.

In the past 3 seasons, Bosa got 0.63 sacks per game. That would be 10.75 sacks at 17 games. Will Anderson got 12 sacks last season (17 games). And you know what, Bosa's contract average at $34M a year, while Will Anderson signed a contract extension this past off-season at an average at $50M a year.

At the current market rate, Boss is not being overpaid at all.

Bosa has missed 32 games in his 8 year career. Until this year Garrett has played nearly every game. His surgery is expected to only keep him out for 6 weeks.
For anyone complaining about Bosa, he's being slowly ramped up. He's still producing a lot of pressure, he got 4 Pressures against Miami yesterday, and on the first play against the Rams almost caused Stafford to throw a pick on a QB Hit that made Stafford hurry up and throw to one of his crossers. I'd say around the Bye Week is when he'll hit his stride. I still expect him to finish with 10-15 Sacks

If he comes back healthy in 4 weeks he may still end up with more saks and pressures than Bosa.

Not sure why its in quotes when its a real stat.

Bosa had 5 credited to him and Halton had 2.

Not sure why you bring up Halton who looks good for a young player but also plays a different position.

Pressure is a stat just like drops are a stat, drops are almost catches.

Pressures and pressure rate show how effective a guy is. Guys can have 10 sacks and not be particularly effective.
