It usually takes a player two full seasons following a major knee surgery before he's really comfortable with testing it in the all out battle of a real game. Provided Bosa does play, I would not expect much out of him. Not until the middle of the season at least.
What?
Bosa tore his acl in 2020, and in 2021 not only was he a monster in week 1, he ended the season with 15.5 sacks. So what you said isn't true across the board (about bosa or any other players)
My statement is based upon what I have read from former players who have gone through these procedures. No, I do not have any links for you. Bottom line? We shall see. I dearly hope Bosa is better and in game day shape. We shall see.
You are correct. Ive read that it does usually take 2 years, for years. But I also clearly remember Bosa's 2021, as the poster brought up. I think Bosa will be fine, but the one thing I haven't thought much about- and some posters have been discussing this point for months- is that this is his 3rd ACL injury. We aren't truly replacing Bosa (too much talent). But I wonder if we have to think about taking a talented DE that can rush the passer and defend the run early next year.
By early, I am talking day 2. I like Mykel a lot and like Height's potential, but even if everything works out with all our guys, we need another real threat anyway to get a good rotation going. Plus said player is a little insurance in either Bosa or Williams.
