Funny thing. Tackle football participation is going down in high school sports and touch football is growing. Mostly because many parents don't want their kids playing playing such a violent sport. At the same time boxing is dying while the more violent MMA is growing. Go figure.

Well boxing is more constant head shots while mma spreads the hits out over the entire body. I'd rather my child do mma than boxing if solely looking at the safety aspect.

Boxing uses much larger gloves to absorbe the blows and boxers are more adept at avoiding ths punches. MMA guys have virtually no defense. It's all offense. Many of them aren't really that skilled. they're just guys that like to brawl.

A team's #1 edge rusher is the second-most important position in the sport, and it's about way more than just sacks. And losing him the day after that euphoric 3-0 start was a crusher and certainly took a hit to our Super Bowl chances.
But I'm not sure I agree with your first two points. This team damn near got the #1 seed and made it to the divisional round without him for 14.5/17 games of the season. By this logic, if he plays the full season we should be Super Bowl favorites! (Maybe we are idk)

Athletes who could play football seriously typically have some other sport they can try to pivot to that doesnt involve violent car-like collisions. Basketball, baseball, soccer.
I love football and even I have to admit looking back when we used to play tackle pick up football, it was real dumb. I remember being close to KOd by a RB trucking me.

What role does society play in this?
Crime is at an all time low and when I was younger football and boxing were both considered poor man's sports.
High Schools and Colleges are teaching "other things" today that could potentially categorize football as toxic masculinity with no value.
Toughness has been redefined, what some consider tough others would consider dumb today.

Feels like this conversation isn't so much about Nick Bosa, let's get it back to that please.
