The Niners have paid players in the past so I'm thinking there's something other than just money that' holding this up. Maybe it's the amount of guaranteed money or bonuses. One thing for sure. If he misses one or two games he loses his chance to break the single season sack record.

I'm equally puzzled. The Niners have earned a reputation for treating their players right and doing it in an efficient fashion. If I had to guess, it must be a structure issue related to shoehorning this contract into the cap over the long-term, or perhaps Bosa is asking for a number of years that don't make sense?

This certainly doesn't fit the trend that our club has established, which makes me suspect the delay is originating from Bosa's side of the table. Which is fine...until he starts missing games.

AGree, they have the cap space - and Bosa is extremely important if they want to do a credible Super Bowl run this year. They can't go into the season with one Defensive End tied behind their backs in a contract dispute. My gut says they are very close, because if they arent' - this would be the time both sides would take it public and it will become a Reggie White situation. But it's not. So I think no news is good news, in a sense.
