Week 1 Overreactions?

I only watched once and I'm just happy to see that 49ers DBs are continuing their long and storied tradition of not turning their head to play the ball...they even got a dummy LB in on the act, could've had a pick-6 if he had an eye on the ball.
Thomas and AA is not overreaction
Those guys wont be signed past their rookie contract

Why can't our guys put on the right cleats? I mean, these guys are pro's. They can't go out on the field and make some cuts to make sure they chose the right shoe? They slipping was ridiculous.
Rascal your post is so accurate ..people like
nyniner85.simple don't understand that this so my guy crap is not working.and the bottom of the barrel rejects .we choose in free agents is ridiculous.and smdh look at our wr core need I say more .if Kyle is genius you can teach talent
And side note you see how heart broken he was over interceptions cousin cause we got jimmy .oh yeah that is right he was not a Kyle guy

Oh dear god. Imagine if AA gets an extension.

This website is going to be in full meltdown.

My game thoughts:

1. Part of being a NFL QB is handling pressure. If everyone had 5 seconds in the pocket, there wouldn't be so many busts in the league).
2. Dominate QBs are good even without #1 Wrs.
3. Every QB deals with multiple drops
4. Jimmy made a lot of poor throws yesterday, not to mention 3 INTs. Unacceptable for a 137 million dollar QB.
5. I hope this was just a fluke and bad day verse a great defense.

It's called context.

How many QBs have had success with all of the following happening in the SAME game?

Starting RG goes out. His backup gets hurt. Rookie RT has to move inside to play RG while a swing tackle who missed several weeks due to a concussion plays RT.
Most dangerous WR on the team goes out early in the game and the big deep threat teams had to respect
Playing on the road with little threat of a running game
Playing against the top defense in the game who IMPROVED in the offseason.

Maybe some guys do a little better but not many have great success. Add the Morris fumble and the drops and it leaves very little room for error.
* Despite the line injuries, they played pretty well. I didn't see Jimmy under a ton of duress. Our previous QBs had it much, much worst.
* There was nothing wrong with the run game. It wasn't great, but it was bad either. With that said, Morris is clearly the better back.
* I agree Mini looked good, but for all our self inflicted wounds they certainly didn't dominate. We'll need several weeks to see how good Mini really is.

I thought Jimmy played okay, but certainly below my expectations.

* Line played OK but JG was hit almost every play. He gets the ball off so quickly that he was helping the OL, but being hit constantly is not conducive to longevity or continued accuracy.
*The run game wasn't helpful. other than to keep the pass rush somewhat at bay. Six rushing first downs, 90 yards. Morris is better but seems to lack any chance of breakaway.
*The game was within reach even though they had so many miscues. Fumbles, interceptions, drops...and yet one score and a two point conversion away. If either TD pass had been completed and the receiver hadn't fallen and given them a pick six the game would have flipped. That's pretty decent against a team many believe will be in the SB.

Not a great game but certainly gives one hope against lesser teams, like Detroit.
dyg_9er .that my friend is the issue on the last 2 sentences you stated ..does lynchbaalke not like good quality addition as they say iron sharpens iron well in our case. paper covers paper. a great gm should have the mindset not to compete or have a moral victory..we should be winning games ..the bottom of the barrel he likes is not cutting it ..McKinnon .really overpaid for a scat back smdh

I may be more patient that some, for good or ill, but I believe the problem with this trend of thinking is...they went after the best FAs they could get, including a RB Shanahan believe fit his scheme to a T. Having two RGs and that RB suffer injuries is just part of football. Too bad, but now it's upward and onward. As for the "we should be winning games" comment, I was one of the most optimistic preseason people in saying the team could be 4-4 by midseason. They lost to the best team of the first 8 they will play, so it was completely predictable. Drawing conclusions based on this loss is really quite an over reaction. Just my opinion, but I do not see any other way to view it.

Oh...and they are still one of the leaders in cap space with the "overpaid" McKinnon. So some people are criticizing Lynch/Shanahan for not paying more for FAs and you are bashing them for paying the going rate. The truth is somewhere in the middle...which is what they did.

OMG overreacting zone. The niners played a great team.

If George Kitlle caught the ball Jimmy would not have a pick 6.
If Bourne ran the right rougte Jimmy would not have had an interception
If Solomon Thomas did not go offsides on a punting down the niners would have had more time.
If Morris did not fumble on the 1 yard line Jimmy would have completed a 14 play drive.
If Garcon caught the ball in the end zone, TD

All of this and the niners only lost by 8 points
I thought outside of some mental errors they played better than what people are complaining about...injuries to the OL was an issue and you could see the effects.

Coyle is trash and we need foster back, no jet hurts kyle with game planning to the fullest.

They will get better.

People need to watch the game again, objectively...take out bias on players.

100%
Do need a real threat out of backfield though, loss of McKinnon is going to be a problem.
