We lean more on Jimmy G!

Thank you....for your voice of reason. One cannot compare McKinnon's time in Minnesota to his time with Kyle (I know, now next year).... Kyle targeted this guy to be a big part of his offense so his loss cannot be underestimated. That stated, no team is crying for the Niners and the NIners aren't crying about it either. They are going to move on with what they have (and I believe they will add to it in a relatively short time). I feel really really bad for Jerick. This is just a cruel, tragic event for a young guy with a great opportunity to make a real name for himself in the league. Get well soon, Jerick!

What to do? Well, I think now a guy like Richie James might be utilized more often. He ran out of the backfield at times in college and although not quite as fast as McK, he is very elusive and a terrific athlete. He also seems to enjoy the limelight so this role may not be too big for him. I'm excited for him.

Going with the old tired cliche', other "guys are just going to have to step up".... It is still going to be a lot of fun to watch these guys...

Cheers!

hope we can get him. Our waiver priority sucks. Lost out on Henderson to the Jets.
we are not going to sign him or any other person in my opinion. status quo with who we have. going back to jt. it seems we have people running this franchise who have no clue something needs to be addressed until it is totally broke down and then its to late to realize. oh the guys we liked were not up to the job.

You......are incorrect, sir!

Stupid thread. Shanny can scheme with Jerry's kids

Really? Shanny can scheme all he wants, but someone has to execute on the field. It's a legit question.

Jimmy G and who? McKinnon was brought in partially because of his pass recieiving skills and ability to pass protect. Who will Jimmy G throw to now and who will handle the pass protection duties?

Yeah, I'm worried about his loss of speed. I'm pretty sure ShanaLynch will draft a RB in the 2019 draft to compete with McKinnon in case he can't get back 100%.

At best he will be a third down back

He will throw to his wide receivers and tight ends.
His o-line will pass protect him.

Thanks

We start Mike Person at Guard so Jimmy G and the other RBs can join him on IR.
We get Frank Gore.

Stays the same. He wasn't going to be some kind of centerpiece for this offense. He's been highly overrated on this board.

Overrated by Lynch too then.

It certainly doesn't make me feel any better about McKinnon lost for the season before it ever began, but Keanu Neal starting SS for the Falcons tore his ACL in that debacle of a season opening game Thursday night so sucks for them just like us. Nobody else is immune to these catastrophic injuries either this early in the season.
