No Jonathan Cooper?

On a better team, he graded even worse than Tomlinson. He's on a one-year deal so I think he's at high risk to get pushed off the final roster.

At worst he's better than Beadles.

As bad as I want Beadles gone, his versatility keeps him around. I agree with OTC, I think he's sticking around one more season.

Cooper has also played C in AZ. I don't see Beadles making it over Cooper.
If Cooper is not better than Beadles we are F'd.

Beadles can play both tackle positions as well. It's alot easier to find guys who can play all the interior positions than it is to find guys who can play all along the line.

I don't think it's out of the realm that both Cooper and Beadles make it but the more offensive line positions a lineman can play, the better their chances are of making the team. It allows more flexibility on gamedays and allows the team to potentially dress an extra player somewhere else on the team.

Graded better by whom? PFF had Cooper graded higher than Tomlinson, not by much but still...

I'm assuming he meant PFF. From what I see Cooper was graded at a 67.0 (https://www.profootballfocus.com/nfl/players/jonathan-cooper/7788) and Tomlinson at a 70.7 (https://www.profootballfocus.com/nfl/players/laken-tomlinson/9461).

Well then they need to figure out wtf they're doing on that site. I've stopped looking at those rankings since I got the pro stuff and in their pro breakdown

Cooper was at -6.1
Tomlinson was at -7.2

Neither exactly thrilling but I'd take either over Beadles...

Cooper was pretty solid last year starting 13 games for the Cowboys.

I'm not exactly a fan of Beadles play or his 4 mil salary this season either. He's the 29th highest paid guard and I'd say he's far from a top 30 guard in this league.

I just think unfortunately his ability to play inside or out will be a deciding factor when the team is weighing cuts.

You don't see Mostert as the 4th RB, due to his ST abilities? I would think it would be tough for Wilson to supplant him, especially with his noted ball security issues, and would think Wilson is on the PS while Mostert is on the 53.

Beadles can play center, guard, and RT in a pinch if absolutely necessary. That's the only reason he's still here, and why he'll likely stay.

We brought it several other players who are good on STs/returns. He's coming off a torn ACL late in the year and unfortunately, I just don't see him outplaying anyone enough to get one of those last spots. Could be wrong, but this is just my early guess.

He will be in a scheme that suits him perfectly. He is an IDEAL zone guard and at the very least will push Beadles off the roster

We shall see. It's just an early guess of course. Between he and Darrell Williams, it could go either way. Just making a shot in the dark prediction on that here.
Yeah, Cooper has to be on the list...think you did a good job overall. I like that instead of whining because Lynch/Shanahan didn't pick this or that guy, you got right into the 53-man. I think it'll be a good battle between Hikutini & Dwelley...could go either way. I think our brain trust did a good job of adding speed to the secondary...it was much-needed. McFadden's an exception, but he'll be valuable in press coverage.

I can play all those positions too...but it doesn't mean I'd be a great fit out there.

Nothing against Zane but I'm hoping he's not on this week 1 roster. I'd much rather keep some young players with a chance to develop them over Beadles but training camp/preseason will help shake things out.

For some reason the coaches seem to like him. I always like to go with one "against the grain" roster pick, so I guess Williams over Cooper is gonna be that early pick prediction this time.
OLB: Malcolm Smith, Fred Warner, Eli Harold, Pita Taumoepenu
ILB: Brock Coyle, Korey Toomer (Foster suspended)

This isn't a very important point but I'm not sure how "OLB" and "ILB" relate to the Will, Mike and Sam positions in this defense. If you were to separate these players by those position names, who would you put where?
