I mean, you could have a child play pin-the-ball-on-the-available-player and draft for you and do significantly better than this. This is just a special skill mastered over time. It's now a culture.
Maybe we should never move this far back and never move up to this area again. It's a bust zone.

We should all hope we get back to drafting later...because that means we're winning a lot more games. I have faith in Lynch/Shanahan...they're on the same page and are much less likely to follow in Baalke's footsteps.

the jury is still out on foster, the alleged corner stone of the defense

I wonder how the 49ers fare compared to other teams with a number of late first round picks? Sometimes it's easy to spotlight our own team and a specific area and say, "we're terrible". However, sometimes that's just the norm.

Last December, my wife had to watch the Christmas movie with the island of misfit toys... And the first thing I thought; this has to be Baalke's inspiration.

I wasn't following the draft back when we drafted McGrew so I can't say how I would've felt then but out of all our picks I think the Kentwan Balmer one was the worst in terms of making me feel very meh or disappointed.
When we drafted AJ Jenkins I had a lot of chit going on so I was kind of not following the draft as much as I normally do but even when I heard about the pick(was at a hospital with friend going through bone marrow transplant) I just kind of laughed but wasn't disappointed.
Kind of silly looking back that at the time I was so trusting of Baalke that I didn't even bat an eye at the pick. But the Balmer pick was a kick to the grundel.

You can add foster and garnet to that list of flops pretty soon.
Hopefully not, but neither of those 2 look promising
I still have hope for the two - got to get their s**t together, though.

Well, IMO, if Garnett doesn't cut it this season - I feel JL/KS will say
Unlike in years past where we'd hold on to them for years.

What are the odds you can break down some tape on some of our pending FAs? Tank, or anyone rumored to us sort of stuff.

Not sure. I came down with some bad "crud" this past week. I didn't think "crud" was a medical diagnosis until the doctor I saw this past week, who was from India, literally said they were treating me for, "the crud".
Here in the south it's really common because we'll change seasons, literally, overnight. It was in the low 20's-40's for 2 months and then in one night it went to the 70's. Then, you have a week where it's extremely humid and massive temperature changes between days but not much temp change during the day(if that makes sense). Like, today it was 70 at 7 AM and the high for today is 74. 2 days ago it was 45 in the AM and the high was 52 but then the next day it'll be wildly different.
All this extreme weather change with the high humidity wreaks havoc on people's sinus' and allergies. You'll almost certainly end up with an infection of some kind, be it either sinus or ear or throat. So, they gave me a couple shots of anti bios and steroids and I've been on steroids and anti bios.
All that to say, I was out of commission for the past 8 days or so and I've had a lot of catchup to do with everything and I've got 2 major business trips to make over the next 4 weeks that I also have a lot of last minute prep for. So, I don't know how much time I'll have.

AJ Jenkins and Kentwan Balmer were late 1st horrors.
