Week 10 NYG Coaches film analysis

Hola, win=bueno!! How is everyone this week? I trust you're doing better since we know our franchise won't have to suffer the shame of sharing the honor of being a winless team! There a number of good things to see on film. One thing that stuck out to me was the scheme and playcalling. What I saw was once our talent differential gap was closed we saw what our coaches can do with playcalling and scheme. Shanny was able to attack the Giants in a myriad of ways and it really broke things open later in the game. Because talent wasn't as much of an issue they couldn't just blitz every play and play man-coverage on the back end when our guys couldn't beat it. I liked that we incorporated Juice in the passing game more. I felt like it gave our formations and personnel packages a little more variety and kept the defense off key. I also really liked that we moved Foster back to WILL with Coyle coming in. I felt that was a MUCH better combo and positioning than Ray Ray at WILL and Foster at MIKE. Some players that really stood out to me: Buck - the guy is a monster in the trenches and is going to be a perennial all-pro. He's the guy we were all hoping AA would be, will be nice to get Solly back too. Blair - I really, really liked this pick last year and he's really start to flash. He's got good instincts, plays with a high motor and has a nastiness that is needed to play on the line and do the dirty work. Foster - the guy looks like Derrick Brooks 2.0 in the WILL position. A. Colbert - the play he made on the sideline to break up a TD pass was REALLY impressive. Especially because he actually stumbled on his turn and still made it to the spot. If he hadn't, he might've picked it off. He showed really good range and I can see now why we were fine with letting L. Jerome go. He reminds me a lot of Dashon Goldson with a little bit of Earl Thomas in him. I know that's high praise but I was really impressed with what I saw. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we let Ward walk or move him again. Colbert was MUCH more impressive at the FS spot than Ward, IMO. Mitchell - the guy still continues to play hard and make a lot of no name plays. He kind of reminds me of A. Franklin in how he does a lot of things that don't show up on the stat sheet. Overall it was much better watching a win that a loss. If there are any specific plays you'd like us to hit, just insert post!! Thanks Y'all and Happy No shave November!
