KS, was saying that his offense is like a language, first you learn to understand it, then speak it, read it and think it. CJ has learned to speak it, JG, well, he's just learning to understand a few words, give hime time.

CJ knowledge of the offense gives us the best chance to beat Seattle, the season is lost, IDK, a win over the Hawks would be sweet, CJ is out best chance, so CJ it is!

Jimmy should start the final two games of the year, so we can get him on tape, and evaluate hime in the off season. Maybe he's the guy, maybe he's not.

If Jimmy shows enough, we pay the man, let CJ be talented back up, and move back in the draft and load up on offensive weapons, and O-line.

We can address Corners, Safeties, and Linebacking in Free agency, the only things that would sway me from this path are:

Jimmy G killing it in practice.
Jimmy G sucking
A generational pass rusher at the top of the draft
CJ exploding on the Seahawks for 400+ yards, and 5 TD's....that would make me rethink Jimmy.

so we waste the pick we traded for Jimmy? CJ is no franchise qb! Hes just another Tebow

Top Gun bored me when I tried watching it as a teenager (I'm 30), never finished it. I only know the nicknames from Meet The Parents (far superior film), but idk who's who.

I don't think you bench CJ after the win. Wouldn't sit right with the team. But I do think Jimmy G has to play 2-3 games this year, just to see and evaluate him. Eventually CJ will struggle or get banged up, and there will be a natural time to make the switch. No need to force it yet though.
Posted this in another thread, but applies here too.....

I am a CJ fan, but the idea that his performance against the Giants should have earned him another start is ridiculous. The Giants are complete trash. Lets look at the last 5 games before our game against the Giants.....

Jared Goff: 311 yards, 4 TDs
Russell Wilson: 334 yards, 3 TDs
Trevor Siemian: 376 yards, 1 TD
Phillip Rivers: 258 yards, 3 TDs
Jameis Winston: 332 yards, 3 TDs

Point is, the Giants have been spreading their cheeks for opposing QBs for much of the season. Not to take anything away from CJ. He certainly did his thing against them also. But I would chill on the expectations for CJ. JimmyG is our future. Get him in there.

We kno what we get from Goose... we need to see what Maverick can do before we pay that fool to be s**tty. If he is amazing then pay him.

He's a back up, that hasn't played much, I think CJ has taken more snaps, and we still don't know what he is yet. Jimmy G is all potential, we need to see him play a little under pressure, in our system before we know what we have.
Goose. He earned another start and Maverick should be comfortable with the playbook before he starts. I'd like to see Maverick get 4 games this year. Texans, Jags and Rams defenses will be a good test for Maverick. The Jags secondary is good ya? Rams are starting to gel on defense after switching DC's/scheme.

Also, I'd like to see a "nobody" (pick #104) QB play well against Seattle's defense. No Sherman...it could happen.
It could also bring Goose's value up if he plays very well vs Seattle. I think Maverick is our long term guy but getting some major trade value for Goose would be great.

If Goose falls flat on his face then it's best to play Maverick vs the Bears. Da Bears.

I'd like to see Jimmy start a minimum of four games to assess what he's worth. But you can't judge his real ability if you put him in before he's ready and, at the same time, CJ has really earned the right to start again after that last performance. So I say let CJ start next week then put Garoppolo in Dec. 3 or Dec. 10, depending on his readiness. This will give you a chance to see each QB for about 5 games and help set the price for Maverick's next contract.
Still say the minute Shanahan feels Garoppolo is ready he plays. I feel like we know what we've got with CJ. It's no knock on him but Jimmy is the future
