Man, my stomach hurts. Jimmy should have shredded that sorry ass KC defense like he did before he got hurt. I still don't know how we lost that game.

Two words: Person. Garland... and a guy named Jones.

Besides, Schwartz, who else was great on the Chiefs OL?

Winner post!

It is axiomatic that the central throwing lanes must remain clear if the QB is to have a decent game. If that doesn't happen, there no chance. It didn't happen in the SB.

You could have driven a truck through the gaps in our Oline in the SB. What chance did JG get to even use an open throwing lane even on the rare opportunity one was open before he got bulldozed?

Is there an analysis of this in another thread?

I guess when a team has two weeks to figure you out, Garland and Person stood out like a sore thumb.

Here is the relative PP ratings for the OLs in the Super Bowl:

Schwartz - 80....... Staley - 84
Fisher - 75............McGlinchey - 67

Wylie - 78............Tomlinson - 69
LDT - 67..............Person - 49

Reiter - 79..........Garland - 62

When you compare the IOL you know where the trouble lies...a conversation we have had many times...ain't nothin' new.

And hence why Person got show the door. It was obvious he was a problem when looking at the film in the 4th Q of the SB.
JG gonna ball out this year. It is time.

can't you then say the same thing about the QB position? lol

Only if you're being intentionally obtuse.

No. You can say it for virtually anyone who had a hand in us losing the game. That's why its kind of a silly comment regardless of which player its directed at.

The guy at the QB position got us to the SB with some key play when called upon. There aren't a ton of QBs available who could've been better. The play by Person was sloppy as hell. Garland at least can be excused because he was a backup and playing with a guy like Person didn't help the situation.

This thread did fine going away for a while because we clearly can't add anything new to it when discussing that game.

Then you can say that Person/Garland did enough to give that QB position enough time to make some key plays when called upon. Now we back at square one.
You know everyone and their mother will be clamoring for Bucs/49ers in the NFC Championship.

Brady and his TE vs. Jimmy and his.
