losing by a large margin is more demoralizing then losing by 1 for players and fans

Losing by a large margin means you are farther off from contending than you would like

Washington and Dallas could very well blow us out the next two games. How much different would it be versus last year?

I could actually see us playing Dallas competitively. We did last season.

The game you should be looking at as a likely blowout loss is the one in Philadelphia.

seems like we play every team competitively

rams seahawks colts cardinals were all close games

at this point we just dont have the talent to close games out

We aren't as close as the scores show. Our talent level is lacking everywhere. Thanks Baalke.

Is everyone forgetting we got dominated by the Browns in 2015 and lost badly to the Matt Barkley run Bears in 2016? Team is losing but we haven't had a game where we all needed to hide our jerseys in shame like the last couple of years.

Not as a fan, but the Niners is a business. Strategically, if they go 0-16 this year, but if it means doing like Dallas did in the '90s, where they built a dynasty from a slew of high draft picks traded by a dumba** team, that gain will be more than worth the pain. The alternative is repeating the history of the Bengals, Chargers, Dolphins, etc. who go nowhere year after year after year after year, because they win 6 or 7 games every season, and draft in the teens perpetually. The Niners desperately need to clean house and hit pay dirt with several high draft picks, but it's a 2 or 3 year process before it pays off.

Winning culture is relevant too. You're not going to start winning if you draft in the top 5 every year. We see it with plenty of teams.

This season is a rebuild, for that reason, the losses don't bother me.

Would 0-16 bother you?

Not if it means they trade the first pick in the draft next year for three first round picks from a team that will finish in the bottom third of the league for the next three seasons. Though to be honest, I think the haul is more likely to be two firsts, two seconds, and a third.

Regardless of what happens in the draft, I really don't understand how 0-16 wouldn't bother some people. It would bother me A LOT

Feels like I'm one of the few who still has some pride in the team and the franchise. Am I wrong?
IMO 0-16 would sting but we've been competitive in every game thus far. Hell we should have 3 wins but as you all see we need help in the key areas to be semi successful. QB, WR, Oline, Pass Rusher and at least one top Flight, doesn't even have to be shutdown, corner!

+1....losing is like a disease. When the young guys get used to it they end up accepting it.

Agreed.

agreed also, but some around here hate hearing that.

And some will spin that as us saying we're happy with 1-15. No, we want to win 10+ games a year. But between those two specific choices I'll take how this year is shaping up (which is 2-3 wins more than likely, because a team that can fight every game will eventually meet another team or two that hurts themselves more).

Far higher chance for games to be won if you stay competitive during all of them.
I would like for us to not have to rationalize why it is ok we finished with a historically bad record year after year. 5-11, 2-14, probably from 0-16 to 4-12 this year. Is that something to be proud of? We're Cleveland West. Constantly rebuilding, constantly looking for signs of improvement and hoping for a better future. Constantly a laughingstock to opposing fans. Just 3 years removed from Jed saying that we only hang Super Bowl banners.

Sad to see how many fans around here are ok with this and happy with our performance this year.

Good effort
This was our best chance to win a game this year & we blew it once again.

Shove aside Detroit Lions we sharing that glorious honor of both finishing 0-16

Weeks 9 and 10 are bigger chances IMO. Both are at home.

It's sad that we think those are the only 2 possible outcomes for this franchise.

What do you expect? Look who runs this organization....

There is no such thing of Home field advantage at Levi's especially with this expansion team with a janitor pretending to play QB. Not happening
