Cripes...I'm a wuss. I like everything...except the DBs. Love everything and everybody else, and RR did redeem himself. Early on though, if front 7 doesn't bring big pressure, we be in trouble.

I think them knowing the pressure is on them can be a good thing. Starts up front so its definitely true.

Isn't that true with almost every team though? Even he best DB's in history can't cover forever.

Difficult to pick only one. We can easily add Taylor to the list. He was getting ridiculous separation.

Williams and breida get honorary mentions but Thomas was a beast. Breida's hands scare me a little but he can reach those outside runs.

CJ Beathard by far. I expected Thomas, Foster and Joe Williams to play well. They're very talented. CJ was the one guy we drafted I felt wasn't worth the pick(but trust Kyle) add the fact that the position he plays is the toughest, seeing him play very well and getting into a good groove was great to see.
I hope he keeps only getting better.

Anyone keep an eye on Lorenzo Jerome? He's had an active camp but I didn't notice much during the game.

Beathard was the guy who outplayed his draft position the most (with Bourne a close second), but I think Solomon Thomas was the most impressive throughout. When he's fully engaged, he looks like a twitchier version of Justin Smith. He comes off the snap faster than Smith ever did, and has similar strength. The question with him has been his ability to keep his motor running. He expends a ton of energy per snap, but there were times in college where he let up. Those two things are probably connected. Playing in a rotation, and having to prove himself are both things that should help. During the KC game, he showed exactly why he's going to be a really good pro. He's not going to be a huge sack guy, but his ability to get off the ball so quickly, his strength, and his ability to track the ball (when engaged) all showed up, and made him very disruptive, especially in the run game.
He's going to be good. Pairing him with Buckner should be scary, and if Armstead can be disruptive off the edge (I'm still on the fence on that, but thought that there were flashes in his dozen or so snaps against KC) the defensive line could be one of the best in the league down the road.

Jerome played very well IMO. Had a few key tackles and def made his presence known in the middle of the field. i think he may have missed a tackle as well (not broken, just missed the player)
