It's actually not an excuse and kyle was even talking about it last night on sirus lol.

You're not going out there and showing anything schematically for everyone to have film on you....hence everything is dumb down and vanilla.

There is zero correlation to preseaon wins and stats to what happens in the regular season...it's mainly for getting your younger players live snaps and helping to finish out the 53 man roster.
Hoyer said that it was nice to play against DEN in the scrimmage because they can practice more of the playbook since only DEN can see the plays (its not a preseason game). The offense is definitely limited in its playcalling for preseason games.

edit: nm you guys are talking about defense.

When I separated my ac joint in rugby I kept playing the rest of the season. My guess is that if this was the season he would be in there. They get a chance to rest it a bit in the preseason so they do. He will be in there for game 1.

No I get that they dumb things down...I just get tired of the excuse "well the D looked bad because they are running a vanilla scheme" Been hearing (and saying it) that for I don't know how long and then when it carries over into the regular season what's the excuse then?

One thing for sure is that we are definitely not starting the same guys that started against KC against Carolina

Did it heal with rest or surgery?

Yeah, they'll just tape him up. He'll be good to go.

Depends on if it's a 1-degree, 2-degree, 3-degree, ... up to 6-degree AC separation. I had a 3-degree separation. Essentially, how many of the shoulder ligaments were torn. 4+ becomes a 'surgery required' situation. 3 is dicey, and 2 or 1 is a pain management situation and PT.

Doesn't look like he is favoring it like Armstead did when he got hurt. Fingers crossed that is a good sign.

Welp how about we wait until the season starts? Until then that's exactly what it is a dumbed down vanilla scheme...I don't think anyone expects SF to magically go from the worst D in the NFL to top 5 in one off season either

They are holding him out of practice and just got Shane Skov, to me that's not a good sign. Looks like next years draft will be defense again.
