Very tiny. There was little guaranteed money in those deals, same with deals for guys like Harris.

I think Shannahan and Lynch are going to copy Seattle, where Pete Carrol had the most roster transactions ever his first year as coach. The bottom 10 better not rest, they will be cut.

I also strongly believe UDFA's selected by shannahan and Lynch (a lot of good ones this year) might get preference over players who played in 2016./ I think they want to develop a winning culture and are willing to start from 80% scratch and keeping 11 of the best players from 2016.

Me too. we need at least one player with some real size at receiver to offer a different skill set than all of the little guys. If both of those guys and Burbridge are cut, then every receiver outside of Pierre Garcon would be under six foot and he's listed at six foot even. Since Rogers never made it out of OTAs last year I'm very curious as to what he can offer. I've always believed in differing skill sets among your receiving group, so I hope one of the aforementioned players can show something.
Hopefully most of our current RBs, Ellington, always hope Jed gets dropped.
I remember the days when we thought Dres Anderson would develop into a WR for the team...

Bears waived RB David Cobb.

The ex-Titans bust made it four months on the Bears' offseason roster. Also waived Monday were RB Bralon Addison, WR Dres Anderson, CB De'Vante Bausby, CB Jacoby Glenn and TE Justin Perillo.

I'd add Burbridge too. I thought he was great in special teams and would like to see what he can do in Shanny's offense.
There'll be quite a number of cuts coming...Armstead won't be one of 'em. Guys like Ellington, Celek, Purcell, Harper, Balducci, Bell, Bradford, Burbridge, Carradine, Davis, Hamm, Iworah, Miller, Moore, Mostert, Price, Rose, Ross, Reaser, Shepherd, Skov, Sunseri could be goners. Mixed feelings about Brooks...he could go, but might stay if he shows enough ability to get after the passer. I can see him in the LEO position. I think there are a few UDFA's who have a chance...TE Cole Hikutini, LB Jimmie Gilbert, WR J.D. Cannon & S Lorenzo Jerome. We could see quite a bit of roster turnover as Lynch/Shanahan continue to put their stamp on their team.

I think you are right about this year being similar to Pete's first year in Seattle. Every player is on notice.

I don't necessarily agree that the UDFAs will have priority. Just because players were on the team last year doesn't mean that they don't have what it takes to be part of a winning culture. I think each player will be evaluated on their own merits.

I think that anyone that is considered a leader better have the right attitude though. Lynch/Shanahan would probably rather take a loss on a good player than have it affect the rest of the team.

Another guy that I miraculously hope can be moved for a draft pick.

I agree about Arnstead, but I do put him in the class as "On notice". Totally agree about Brooks. Honestly, I like Brooks, and hope he retires a 9er. Currently, he's our most consistent and reliable passrusher. But my feeling is that, with the new staff and GM, they may look to get younger and cheaper there. So I don't see him here beyond this season. I do hope I'm wrong, which brigs me to another player: Eli Harold. Given his draft status Eli has been simply pedestrian, and I'm being nice. no matter what package we're in get simply gets no pressure at all. He was drafted to be a passrush specialist. And don't talk to me about 3-4/4-3, even in obvious passing downs - in "NASCAR" packages - he STILL wasn't able to get consistent passrush. In 3 seasons he still hasn't increased his repertoire of moves to the QB. If this Taumoepenu kid out of Utah shows anything in camp and preseason, like I think he will, Eli is a goner. Book it.
