Wow, targeting a week 1 return! Even if that is overly optimistic, it's still better than we feared. Warner clearly on track, and there were rumours Bosa might have made the Superbowl if we got there. Should hopefully all be raring to go next season.

Elite athletes always overestimate their recovery timeline and prognosis. God bless him for his stellar PMA but if he doesn't do anything more than go on PUP to start the season I'll consider it best case scenario.

Granted, but surely that wouldn't be said if anyone thought he'd miss most of the season as was feared.

If Crabtree can come back in 6 months after tearing his Achilles so can Kittle

Crabtree never really came back the same. His numbers took a nose dive after his return.

Crabtree had his best ever ypc right after returning from the injury
But after that we had terrible 2014 and then he went to raiders. I do feel he had 1 good season w raiders

Crabtree was also around 26 when he tore his achilles in 2013 and Kittle is a way more physical player than Crab ever was, it's not the same.
Crabtree wasn't good in 2014, but nether was the rest of the offense outside of Frank Gore and maybe Carlos Hyde.

Week 1? Seems a bit aggressive, no?

Let's hope not. Sounded like the injury isn't the typical achilles so hopefully we'll be lucky in a speedier recovery.

His position is cracking into 270lb DE's on the regular, 250lb LB's down field. It's not simply a recovery to run routs it's more about the question of will the recovery hold up to having to squat these bodies in the act of blocking 20-30 snaps a game which is nearly half his game and the expectation of the role plays on this team. He also plays a brutal style of football that absorbs a ton of unnecessary punishment and that could add to the problem of returning too early.

I know these elite athletes are built different and have the best rehab programs money can buy... I'd be happy if he doesn't rush it and be 110% later in the season, even if that means until playoffs
