After the Achilles tear, Jed York came into the 49ers locker room and asked George Kittle if there's anything he could get him. Within minutes, that bottle of tequila was in the 49ers' locker room.

A couple hours later, victory in Philadelphia was secured. A new piece of 49ers…
I'm guessing the tequila helped with the pain, don't drink TBH so I don't know.
Alcohol helps with all kinds of pain, mental and physical

So it's a tear not a rupture. A tear can go from anywhere to 4 months to 9 months of recovery time.
If it had been a rupture it would have been 9-12 months.

I mean the recovery should be a similar timeline because he still has to get surgery.

Maybe back after the the halfway point next season (thinking more around 3/4), but really won't be up to speed until the following season.

Historical data has players returning between 9 - 12 months post-surgery but newer surgical techniques that allow for earlier, aggressive rehab can push the timeline earlier. Of all positions, there is data that demonstrates tight ends have the highest return to play rate.

Yeah there will be factors, I will say Sherman was a similar age when he tore his and came back and played for SF the following year at a high level. Think his was torn in Nov vs Kittle in Jan.
we will see, I won't count out Kittle from anything, he has an amazing work ethic and mindset to get back out there.
resigning Tonges is that much more important.

George deserves a vacation. See you in '27 big guy. Luv ya. Start measuring for that gold jacket. Remember you put on a few pounds in your 40s

He'll be around until he's 40. Tony Gonzalez and Jason Witten played until 37 at a high level, and George is a freak of nature. Maybe less blocking and grinding, and more receiving game going forward. Attack that rehab George.

Whatevwer the recovery time is the 49ers need to draft another TE now. Kittle has a history of missing games due to injury and now this.
