@tonyuop Who is getting the most reps with the first string at TE?

ANS: Receivers and tight ends substitute in and out more than other positions because they do so much running. That is, the first-string TE is ever-changing. But I'd say that, when all the spring practices are tallied up, Logan Paulsen got the most snaps.

Asked an open ended question on local radio about who has been an early standout, Lynch mentioned Kittles.

http://www.knbr.com/2017/06/27/john-lynch-names-a-handful-of-49ers-players-most-hes-excited-about/
"He's got some suddenness to him in his movements. He catches the ball extremely well. One of the things we knew is that we weren't going to be able to build this to the way we want it in one year. I think George gives us something we don't have in a playmaker down near the red zone, where you've got a one-on-one matchup.

"One thing you have to be able to do, when you're down near the red zone and everything tightens up, you have guys who man-on-man can just beat the guy in front of him. We were concerned we didn't have that and were going to have to live without it for a year. We feel like George Kittle maybe gives us something where he is that guy, in a one-on-one situation you can flex him out, put him in the middle of the field and he can kind of impose his will and just out-athlete people. That has been extremely positive. We thought that coming in, but he probably exceeded our expectations."
This the ish I do like.... when it comes to news like this. Cmon lil gronk! Breakout for us damn it!

And therein lies the difference between kyle/lynch and our last 3 HCs/GM , to and including harbaw. We never even discussed having a guy down near the goal line or even inside the 20 who could go 1 on 1 with any, or most of any defender. You gotta like the bases both John and Kyle are covering. They ARE looking for that inside the RZ guy. Apparently, it never even occurred to baalke, harbs, tomsul for sure, and chip.

Not only do they recognize our deficit, they are considering bringing a guy in NOW for development for next yr. You NEVER had that kind of thinking with baalke nor any of our last 3 HCs. No it isn't much, but is IS progress.

What's funny is in 2015 Vance was one of the most efficient red zone threats in the league (top 20)

I hope Vance does make the squad but the way kittle is rolling it make things a little hazy at TE.

The way I see it, if Kittle emerges and Vance and him are the 1-2. They'd making a combined salary of 8 million dollars, add Paulsen and a rookie if we go with 4 TEs and we're talking 10 mill total for 4 TEs

Yeah I don't see it as too difficult to figure out.
