Brown is a HoF talent. Couple more prime years. We have sucked since the great Jim Harbaugh left. We'd be fools to not at least inquire about AB.

AB+Kittle+Pettis+Shanny = elite offense
3 that are the exception not the norm. 3 that went on to play with Pro Bowl, MVP & HOF type of quarterbacks. 3 that had to conform to their new teams.

3 that didn't go to rebuilding teams. Correct?

So we are just going to forgo adding a high level talent because we sucked last year?

Well for people with that attitude if we had Antonio Brown those five games we lost by less than five points would've all been wins IMO. So I guess nine and seven is a bad year with all the injuries and a player like AB. Most likely we would be playing Chicago in Chicago which to me isn't that hard especially with their average offense. Now add in jimmy G and Mckinney minimum wild card

I did ... I said the premise does not make sense. I see others have thrown some names out to quench your question answering desires, so I hope you are happy now. I am done though, enjoy your shouts at the rain.

f**k no I wouldn't give up the #2 pick... a third rounder or a future 2nd I'd be cool with. Pittsburgh will not get fair compensation for AB

The thing I'm worried about is an acl or achilles for a guy his age, but that's a risk with everyone I guess. His entire game is based on speed. He has another three prime years left.

He's quick but the main reason he gets open is his route running. No joke, probably the best route runner since Rice himself. He is a WR that should age well.

That said, this is the Kittle thread ...
Just some thought...what kind of contract down the road can Kittle command if he keeps this up? I say this because I dont know who is the highest paid TE atm.

It depends on the money(cap wise). If the niners are paying him, 4th rounder. If the steelers are paying him, i would consider a 2nd and a 3rd.

I think he has 2 great years left, then who knows.

Adding Brown would obviously be a huge upgrade to the wr room, but he comes at the great risk of being a locker room cancer.
It's hard but I think I would pass
Thank you!

Smart man.

the patriots took a chance on josh gordon, they were praised for it

if we take a chance on the best wr in the game, and his only fault is not getting a long with rapistberger and tomlin....ummm yeah i think i'll take my chances
This is the Antonio Kittle thread

Why are those 3 the exception? Because they were great, HOF type receivers before they switched teams. That's Brown. He's a great receiver. His game isnt built on only one aspect. Hes not just a great route runner like Anquan Boldin, hes not just a speed guy like DeSean Jackson. He's not just a quickness guy like Julian Edelman. Hes got speed, quickness and is an amazing route runner. This guy's been stacking corners and beating them over the top for years all the while being as short as I am.

I am not so sure he is a cancer, yeah he has number one receiver ego. But they all do and he would clearly be the number one by a mile here. But beyond that you look at him and Lev Bell in just one year and you have to wonder about that front office and coaching staff a little bit. Two premium stars in less than a year wanting out of there and acting up? Makes you question who the real problem is.

Because history tells us that such receivers switching teams and being a productive citizen is not the norm. Look at the situation. He would immediately become the biggest personality on offense maybe the team. Bigger than Jimmy G and bigger than Shanahan. Those other guys had an established franchise quarterback with an already established winning culture. Besides this team has bigger needs:

1. Edge Rusher
2. O- line (yes O- line)
3. OLB
4. FS

"Wining culture" comes with winning players. AB is a top three WR in the NFL. Jimmy G doesn't need to be the biggest personality, nor does Shanny. Not their style.

Name one HOF WR in their prime that went to a different team and did horrible. While in their prime. I'll wait...
I remember some fans on this board didn't want Peyton Manning when he was a free agent because he was "too old, had a broken neck, and a choker" and would've rather stick with Alex Smith because he beat the Saints so no surprise that some would be against landing AB

Exactly the point. Which tells you that you can have a winning culture without having a diva receiver on the team. Yes Jimmy and Shanny need to be the biggest personalities in control maybe they won't go in front of the camera and seek attention but they don't need a diva in their face because he got targeted only 3 times in a game or only caught two balls in a game.

As for your question, this should help you a bit, how many HOF WR in their prime have gotten pushed out? How many?
